Hon. Martin Ssejjemba, the LCV Chairperson Mpigi District Local Government ,yesterday urged fellow leaders to seek relevant knowledge on how to attract investors and establish public private partnerships to support economic development. "We must be the focal persons of the change we want", he added. This was during the validation meeting for the district Local Economic Assessment Report that was developed with support from Commonwealth Local Government Forum CLGF .

Both political and technical leaders agreed that despite the immeasurable competitive advantages that their district has, they have not been fully exploited. It was clear that the Assessment was done in time to provide a strong benchmark to unlock the potential of the district and hence reverse the existing trend of poverty.
Ms. Assumpta Tibamwenda, the Consultant was instrumental in guiding the leaders to understand the correlation between Local Economic Development and the Sustainable Development Goals.
