[07/30/19]   "Whenever you make a mistake or get knocked down by life, don't look back at it too long. Mistakes are life's way of teaching you. Your capacity for occasional blunders is inseparable from your capacity to reach your goals. No one wins them all, and your failures, when they happen, are just part of your growth. Shake off your blunders. How will you know your limits without an occasional failure? Never quit. Your turn will come."

Hn. Weston Wanjohi

This boy is not taking a shower but performing a ritual only known to cattle keepers in my community. Every herder including me has undergone this baptism ritual. It is not different from the sprinkling of Holy water for blessing!

Cow urines is life, it is purity, it is anti bacterial, it is a potent medicine and a God's gift to us "the herders". We drink cow's urine in milk...the taste is great and the smell is inviting. We springle cows urine at our new homes, vehicles etc.

We also use cow urine to clean milk guards, as a dye, cow fat is also used as ointment. The smell and hair colour and texture helps to differentiate ourselves from non herders. Cow urine is also used to make women skin glow. Herders are very special even those millionaires or billionaires in the cities are not that special according to us the herders, a respectful and a responsible man must have a herd of cattle and must fight like a bull no surrender or retreat when hurt.

A name of a cow is given to a child depending on the color of cow or bull his mother was paid as dowry this is in reference to maternal uncle's. If your Mother was married with Marial/Kalacha (black and white bull) or Yar/leltang (white cow) and mom happened to gives birth to a boy or girl, automatically the boy will be codenamed Marial/WeroTuitang and the girl codenamed Yar/Cheboleltang. Those names are given when one is initiated into manhood.

Where are those guys we used to graze cattle together back in Baringo and in Toch Apathii and Apathdit to Lolraac particularly Lol junction?

Advice men who cannot rise to the occasion to try cow's urine and most importantly remind their fathers to pay dowry for their mothers and if their fathers are deceased, they can cause their relatives pay the dowry on behalf of their fathers.

Copy that herders secret to life!

Two mad men organized to run away from the mental hospital, they started planning that they will go to the gate, beat up the watchman and open the gate and run away. When they reached the gate, the watchman wasn't there and the gate was widely opened, they said "Goodness" our plan has failed, let's go back, we will try again tomorrow. 😂😂

However, the minister did not provide any information on the burial plans but promised to avail information as soon as it is available.

[12/14/18]   Life is better when you are happy, but life is at its best when others are happy because of you: Be faithful in touching other's hearts. Be an inspiration. Nothing in nature lives for itself;.Rivers do not drink their own water. Trees do not eat their own fruits. The Sun does not shine for itself and Flowers do not spread their fragrance for themselves. Living for others is a rule of nature. We were all born to help each other. No matter how difficult the situation you find yourself in, Still do good to others. Stay blessed!

[12/08/18]   AFRICAN MIND SET

It is so melancholic when our folk are being manipulated by an outside world most especially the West. There is nothing important than to have your culture intact. Culture define the dignity of the human race, everything has value, money has economic strength, animals for beauty of tourism and human for culture. It was well stated by Jesus that I didn't come to change the culture of the world but to make it true.
We are leaving our culture and adopting other people's culture on account of civilization. To be civilized doesn't require you to abandon yours but only to change the mind set.

Wester world is trying to impose their ideas to our mind but they are devastating. This resulted into chaos in our land. Every day there must be a gun shot, death has become a daily bread, tears can even flow as a river. Our eyes are now dried because there are no more tears, but who is killing who? War in Somali, South Sudan, DRC, Chad, Nigeria, Libya and so many other countries in Africa, we are kill ourselves, either the rebels or government is being supported by the West. At the end Africans are the one dying. If you want power and you are killing your own people, will you rule trees? You need people to rule because there is no leader without people.

Unity is what we are suppose to embrace. A bundle of stick is hard to break however it takes a microsecond to break one stick. If Africans need to be potent, unity is the only tool to bring that pride plus maintenances of culture. Culture brings all folk together and united them strongly. Unity is what I cry for. If we don't allow an external forces to influence us and we stick to fraternity, we shall occlude all those problems which arise within us. In early 1700s Africa was one place, one home, one village where children play together but now we are partitioned. They fragmented Africa such that it will not resurrect again, to be disunited for ever.

If we want to be suprasegmental, then youth should change their thinking and amalgamate us. We should resort to judging individuals not communities at large, follow ideas not personnel. An individual only fulfills his/her interest not for people. I urge all youth in Africa to wake up and stop the idea of praising outside world style of living /cultures. It's high time we develop our own ideas and implement them.
I know we lost great thinkers, important leaders, liberators like late Col. Muhammed Gaddafi, Dr John Garang de Mabior, Ida Amin due to Western world influence. I like people like president Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe who stand by their words. He refuses the devastating ideas of West

[10/31/18]   JUST A LITTLE MISTAKE...
One night, before a shopkeeper closed for the day, a dog came into the shop, having a bag in its mouth. The bag had a list of items to be bought and money so the shopkeeper took the money and put the items in the bag.
Immediately, The dog picked up the bag of items and left. The shopkeeper was surprised and went behind the dog to see who the owner was.The dog waited at the bus stop. After sometime, a bus came and the dog got onto the bus. As soon as the conductor came, it moved forward to show his neck belt which had money and the address as well. The conductor took the money and put the ticket in his neck belt again.
When it reached its destination, the dog went to the front and wagged his tail indicating that he wanted to get down. The moment the bus stopped, it got down. The shopkeeper was still following it. The dog knocked on the door of a house with its legs. Its owner came from inside and beat it with a stick.
The shocked shopkeeper asked him "why are you beating the dog?", to which the owner replied, "he disturbed my sleep. It could have taken the keys with it."
This is the truth of life. There is no end to the expectations people have from you. The moment you go wrong, they start pointing at our mistakes.
All the good done in the past is quickly forgotten. Any small mistake committed gets magnified. You can do 100 things for people but once you make a small mistake they forget all that you have done for them. They capitalize on your little mistake and hold it against you whereas they themselves ain't perfect.
The owner of the dog had no idea of what his dog went through to get those items yet instead of appreciation it he beat the dog.
Most people have no idea what you have gone through in life to make them happy or please them but at the end of it all, instead of them appreciating you or complement you they end up looking for faults and mistakes from you just to discredit you. This is the kind of society we live in...
To all those who can relate to this story, may God bless you and may you find a fulfilling life as God unlocks opportunity for you.

[10/29/18]   A big-city lawyer was representing the railroad in a lawsuit filed by an old farmer when his prize bull went missing from the section through which the railroad passed.

The farmer vehemently claimed that the bull must have been hit by the train, and thus wanted to be compensated with the fair value of the bull. As soon as the farmer showed up at the courts, the lawyer who was representing the railroad pulled him aside and tried to get him to settle the matter out of the courts with little success.

During the trial, the lawyer did his best and finally convinced the farmer to take half of what he was asking for.

After the farmer had signed the release and took the check, the young lawyer couldn’t resist gloating a little over his success, telling the farmer, “You know, I hate to tell you this, old man, but if I didn't put a one over on you in there I couldn’t have won the case. You see, when the train was passing by your ranch that morning, the engineer was in asleep and the fireman was in the caboose. The thing is, I didn’t have any witnesses to put on the stand but I bluffed you!”

The old farmer replied, "Well, I’ll tell you, young feller, I was a little worried about winning this case myself."

The lawyer looked at him laughing, "oh really? Why is that?"

The farmer smiled and said, "because, young man, that darned bull came home this morning."...
