I mentioned at general conference that, as an airline captain, I often trained pilots using a flight simulator—a sophisticated machine that replicates the flying experience. The simulator not only helps pilots learn the fundamentals of flying; it also allows them to experience and react to unexpected events they could encounter when they take command of the real aircraft.

The same principles apply for disciples of Jesus Christ.

Actively participating in the Church of Jesus Christ, even during this unique time when we can’t physically attend church together, will help us to be better prepared for life’s changing circumstances, whatever and however serious they may be. As members of the Church, we are encouraged to immerse ourselves in the words of God through His prophets, ancient and modern. Through sincere and humble prayer to our Heavenly Father, we learn to recognize the voice of the Holy Spirit. We accept calls to serve, teach, plan, minister, and administer. These opportunities allow us to grow in spirit, mind, and character. They will help us prepare to make and keep sacred covenants that will bless us in this life and in the life to come.

The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square

Today, The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square revealed its new visual identity.

In a virtual press conference this morning, Choir president Ron Jarrett said, “As you know, in 2018 the Choir changed its name to The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square to more fully align with the work of its sponsoring organization, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Following the name change, the Choir commissioned a review of its brand image.”

The result of this year-long comprehensive review is an exciting new strategic direction, which starts today with unveiling the Choir’s new visual identity.

Why do you think the poor are unwilling to stay at home?
Is it because you think they want to die?

Let's open our understanding and analyze within proper context..

There are two issues now in Africa.

1. Health crises
2. Hunger crises

The rich are afraid of (1)
The poor are afraid of (2)

The rich are pushing the poor to stay at home as they who are rich believe that is what will save the situation and perhaps their ass as well.

The poor are also pushing to survive as they know they may die of hunger and not the virus if they don't take care.

The rich, it appears, fear the virus and not hunger.

The poor, it seems, fear hunger than the virus.

Each is fighting for his survival, only differently.

Let the rich, if they are really serious push that strategic steps be taken to feed all the poor and constantly, not only once but twice at least.

But if they just keep crying stay at home, the poor may take the desperate mantra to mean- *die at home*

We are each others keeper.
For the poor to stay at home and soundly, what they fear most, which is hunger crises must be well dealt with.
Otherwise they will come out to survive, and that is as well dangerous; for they may eventually be killed by the cruel virus or the abusive bullets of overly aggressive security men.

Let's be each others keeper in this hard times.
Let the rich stand for the poor in this crises, and together, we shall be safe.

Somebody's opinion,,,,,,,,,

President Russell M. Nelson introduced “The Restoration of the Fulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ: A Bicentennial Proclamation to the World” at #GeneralConference this morning.

“We felt impressed to establish a monument of words—words of solemn and sacred proclamation—written not to be carved in tables of stone, but in words that could be etched in the fleshy tables of all human hearts.”

Watch as President Nelson shares the proclamation from the Sacred Grove in Palmyra, New York—the site where God the Father and Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith. #HearHim"

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - Pacific Area

This week Elder Holland shared the following on his Instagram:

"Recently, President Russell M. Nelson invited each of us to consider how we hear the voice of the Lord in our lives. He also invited us to make a stronger, more focused effort to better hear that voice.

Perhaps you feel overwhelmed. Please remember that everything you and I do will mean little or nothing unless we find Jesus at the centre of it all.

In 1820 Joseph Smith faced commotion and confusion, crowds and contention. There is still plenty of that in our world. Yet, both then and now, our Heavenly Father beckons to us: 'This is My Beloved Son. Hear Him!' (Joseph Smith—History 1:17). No greater expression of Jesus’s divine identity, His primacy in the plan of salvation, and His standing in the eyes of God could ever exceed that short seven-word declaration.

Both in ancient times and now, God the Father points us toward His Son—our Savior—and invites us to 'Hear Him.'"

Are you ready to #HearHim during the upcoming general conference?

Russell M. Nelson

As a physician and surgeon, I have great admiration for medical professionals, scientists, and all who are working around the clock to curb the spread of COVID-19. I am also a man of faith, and I know that during these challenging times, we can be strengthened and lifted as we call upon God and His Son, Jesus Christ—the Master Healer.

I invite you to join with me in a worldwide fast—for all whose health permits—to pray for relief from the physical, emotional, and economic effects of this global pandemic. I invite members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints everywhere, along with our many friends, to fast and pray this Sunday, March 29. Let us unite our faith to plead for physical, spiritual, and other healing throughout the entire world.

The Lord understands the feelings you are experiencing. He loves and cares for you, as I do too.

My advise to the president of the republic of UGANDA.
Its time to go to step 2,LOCK DOWN ALL BORDER POINTS AND AIRPORTS completely before we regret.
Give UGANDANS one week to prepare for national residential LOCK DOWN.
The army should swing in then to enforce guided movements of say one person per household to access either shops or hospitals.
Put up help lines for people to call incase of signs and symptoms.

What has hit the rest of the world will by all means hit UGANDA but STRONG TIMELY measures might minimize the impact to suit our economic capabilities to fight back.

Ugandans are moving in and out of the country to already effected Rwanda and Kenya yet if we look at the incubation period of the Corona virus, the present tests cannot be accurate as there is a 30% gap/possibility of it not being detected within 14 days.

We need to stop public transportation like buses and taxis immediately.
People should now be encouraged to stay in their homes from this weekend.

We are going to face the worst as UGANDA because we don't have the resources to handle this epidemic if it hits us massively which it will if we don't move to stage two by this weekend.
Mr president, the committee comprising of different ministers of concerned areas like trade and transport and others has been formed but take the health minister as your first priority adviser as of now coz in such a committee, the health minister's advise might be ignored by the committee as they might present economic defence.
What's the use of defending an economy for dead people.

Let's fight against Corona virus.

"I the Lord am bound when you do what I say..."
D&C 82

My dear friends, our Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ know us, love us, and are watching over us. Of that we can be certain.

These unique challenges will pass in due time. I remain optimistic for the future. I know the great and marvelous blessings that God has in store for those who love Him and serve Him. I see evidence of His hand in this holy work in so many ways.

So, during these uncertain times, be comforted by this promise from the Savior. He said, “I the Lord am bound when ye do what I say.” I promise you that joy is always within the reach of everyone who will hear Him and obey His laws.

I love you. I pray for you. And I promise that you will receive comfort and peace as you continue to hear Him.

God has repeatedly invited His children to hear the voice of His Son, Jesus Christ, to find answers, direction, comfort, and peace. Joseph Smith took that invitation 200 years ago. You can take the same invitation today. President Russell M. Nelson asks, “How do you hear Him?” #HearHim

Wow! I love this guy's comments.

"This is a president who acts boldly. This is a president who carried out a strike that was so precise, so strategic, nothing else was hurt except the car in which that terrorist was riding."

Representative Mike Kelly praised President Donald J. Trump for the airstrike that killed Iranian commander Qassem Soleimani ahead of the House vote on a resolution that limits President Trump's military action against Iran. Rep. Kelly went on to rip into House Democrats for being more worried "about the loss of an election in 2020 than the loss of American lives, and the continued loss of lives around the world by one of the worst terrorists of all time." https://fxn.ws/36PzBMN

Reverend Amos Brown and President Russell M. Nelson have a tangible friendship that is evident as they "lock arms" together at the NAACP national convention. The Rev. Brown enthusiastically recited the hymn "Come, Come, Ye Saints" as a nod to the commonalities the NAACP and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints share — commonalities that bring the two together in a historic partnership.

Church News

President Russell M. Nelson was invited to speak at the NAACP national convention, a result of the growing partnership between the NAACP and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Reverends, pastors and NAACP leadership said this partnership is built on common ground and mutual interests in "bringing hope, happiness and good health to all of God's children."
