Kikaaya College School Bulenga was honored to host District Governor 9213 Kakembo Nsubuga on 28th November 2023. The Theme of his visit was “The Boy Child Empowerment.”
The Governor’s visit was a timely reminder of the importance of empowering the boy child. While much attention has been given to the girl child in recent years, boys have often been overlooked. This can have a negative impact on their lives, leading to problems such as low self-esteem, poor academic performance, and involvement in risky behaviors.
Kikaaya College School Bulenga is committed to supporting all of its students, regardless of gender. The school has a number of programs in place to empower the boy child, including mentoring, counseling, and leadership training.
The Governor’s visit was a valuable opportunity for the school to showcase its work in this area. He was impressed with the school’s commitment to empowering the boy child and encouraged the school to continue its good work.
The Importance of Empowering the Boy Child
There are many reasons why it is important to empower the boy child. Here are just a few:
Boys are half of the world’s population. They deserve the same opportunities as girls to reach their full potential.
Empowered boys are more likely to become responsible and productive members of society. They are less likely to engage in crime or violence.
Empowered boys are better able to care for themselves and their families. They are more likely to be financially independent and emotionally healthy.
What Can Be Done to Empower the Boy Child?
There are many things that can be done to empower the boy child. Here are a few suggestions:
Provide boys with positive role models. This includes fathers, teachers, and other male figures in their lives.
Encourage boys to participate in activities that they enjoy and that help them develop their talents and skills. This could include sports, music, art, or other extracurricular activities.
Teach boys about healthy relationships. This includes how to respect women and how to communicate effectively.
Provide boys with access to mental health services. This can help them cope with stress and other challenges.
By taking these steps, we can help to create a world where all children, regardless of gender, have the opportunity to thrive.
Kikaaya College School Bulenga is a Model for Other Schools
Kikaaya College School Bulenga is a model for other schools that are committed to empowering the boy child. The school’s programs are making a real difference in the lives of its students.
We encourage other schools to follow Kikaaya’s lead and develop their own programs to empower the boy child. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of boys around the world.
