Harvest Finance

Harvest Finance

HARVEST FINANCE EXISTS FOR THE PURPOSE OF EQUIPPING KINGDOM BUSINESSES TO BE PROFITABLE, EQUITABLE AND TRANSFORMATIONAL. The store front; the business entity; the service company; the enterprise is the most effective and sustainable “church” in the city.

People who don’t come to church on Sunday go to the bank on Monday, the restaurant on Tuesday, the fuel station daily, the shop in the community often and the salon at the weekend. We believe that these businesses can be “touch points” of the Kingdom of God. Therefore we believe that one of the most effective ways to resource people serve others meaningfully is to equip businesses.

Harvest Finance exists with the purpose of equipping kingdom businesses to be profitable, equitable and transformational.

On budgeting:
Who should have a budget?
Everyone can benefit from a budget. It’s not just for people who are having trouble making ends meet.

If you’re spending less than you earn, use your budget to work out how much you can put aside each pay to improve your financial position. We call this ‘paying yourself first’.

If you’re spending more than you earn, use your budget to see where your money is going. Then see if there are any ways you can cut your spending or increase your income.

A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.
Are you looking for an effective way to establish a budget?
Beginning on the first day of a new month, get a receipt for everything you purchase. Stack and review receipts at the end of the month, and you will clearly be able to see where your money is going.

Sometimes (If not all the time), the hardest thing about saving is starting. Just starting...
For some people, once they take that first step, the rest as they say is history.
For others, it may require more than just starting, but whatever it is, this week we will highlight the most realistic saving tips that can help you grow into the habit or culture of saving.
Tip number 1:
Plan on saving money even before you actually save. You can never go where your mind has never been.
Once you plan that you are actually going to save, the other tips will help you fix the rest of the puzzle.

For the biggest part of the year, the dollar rate against the shilling has dominated most of our ‘almost’ economic and financial conversations.
It almost feels like everyone understands this relationship!
Never mind that some interpret this relationship to be the lifeline of our economy, the kind that steers demand and supply for whatever, whenever with whosoever. So when you ask the lady at your local market why she is giving you less ‘nakati’ for the same usual price, she aint ashamed to go like ‘anti dollar yalinye’.
So how do you understand this relationship and what has been your most recent encounter with the effects of the strained relationship between the two currencies?
Please share. Humor is allowed.

Credit Rating:
an estimate of the ability of a person or organization to fulfill their financial commitments, based on previous dealings.
Simply put; your past credit dealings determine your current and future credit dealings.
It is not just about you being able to pay, it is questions like:
-How easy are you as person to deal with? (Do you treat the relationship like a business or you think that paying when you want is okay?)
-Do you take the responsibility of paying the loan seriously regardless of the nature of the relationship or your current situation? It is easy to identify someone who takes the responsibility seriously; for example, when they feel they will not be able to beat a payment deadline, they communicate.

HF Credit Management Tip #1:
Always look out for an interest rate that is in your favor. Interest is the cost of borrowing and therefore if the cost-benefit is a match, then that rate is favorable. If the cost-benefit is a mismatch, that interest rate is not favorable.

The Wealth Files

Passive Income:
This animal called passive income is the ultimate vehicle to being wealthy. As you may have already noticed by now, you grow a little older every year. That also means that your ability to exert yourself physically reduces, and yet your responsibilities increase. Less energy, and yet more money needed! You are not going to work two jobs into your nineties!

The Wealth Files

Here's today's wealth Nugget... Henry S. Muwaga, Noah Baalessanvu, Tayebwa Baalibaseka Allan, Chris Kaweesa Aine, Winifred Katherine Zizinga... and y'all rest. Much love as you create wealth for the King!

Wealth is not a figure in a bank account, neither is poverty; it’s all a state of mind. You are not rich because you have money; you have money because you are rich.
