Earlier today, the Minister of State Foreign Affairs (Regional Affairs), Hon. John Mulimba, convened a meeting with H.E. Mehmet Fatih AK, the Turkish Ambassador to Uganda. The topics of conversation revolved around matters of shared concern for both countries. The Ambassador provided an update on the status of Ugandan individuals detained in Turkey, reporting a total of 145 detainees. He also affirmed that efforts are being taken to facilitate their prompt repatriation to Uganda 🇺🇬 🤝 🇹🇷

During the , Presidents Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and Vladimir Putin had bilateral talks. The discussion focused on topics such as adding value to raw materials, the oil and gas industry, agriculture, production, the pathogenic economy, space science, and the military.

𝐏𝐈𝐂𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄𝐒: President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni arrived at Pulkovo International in Saint Petersburg, Russia for the two-day Second Russia-African summit taking place from July 27th to 28th, 2023.

His Excellency Kaguta Museveni was greeted by Mr. Mikhail Leonidovich Bogdanov, the Russian Federation Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, as well as a Ugandan delegation led by Gen. Jeje Odongo, the Ugandan Minister of Foreign Affairs.

In an effort to attract more tourists from the UAE to Uganda, the Uganda Embassy in the UAE and the UAE Embassy in Kampala are hosting a delegation from the Emirate of Sharjah.

This delegation is being led by H.E Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, the Chairman of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industries.

The Sharjah government has made a commitment to improving the Kidepo National Park airstrip so that it can accommodate jet aircraft. This will involve expanding the runway from 1.5 km to 3.5 km. Additionally, they plan to build a high-quality lodge to provide suitable accommodations for the anticipated increase in tourists from the UAE and other Gulf countries
