Uganda risks a food security crisis as small-scale farmers shift from food crops to sugarcane for profit. During our project review meeting, the DSO of Mubende noted that in Kakumiro, Hoima, Masindi, and Kiryandongo, land once used for cassava, maize, and beans is rapidly disappearing.
