Uganda Wins Seat on UNESCO Executive Board in Samarkand, Uzbekistan

🇺🇬 I am deeply honored to share that Uganda has been elected to the UNESCO Executive Board for the 2025–2029 term, after securing 172 votes, the second-highest in Africa. This remarkable achievement reflects Uganda’s growing credibility, steadfast diplomacy, and unwavering commitment to multilateral cooperation. I wish to commend the dedication and professionalism of the Ugandan delegation whose tireless efforts, strategic engagement, and teamwork made this victory possible. As Uganda’s Permanent Delegate to UNESCO, I am proud to have led this mission, building on strong partnerships and mutual support across regions. Uganda will now play a significant role in shaping UNESCO’s global agenda in education, science, and culture, advancing initiatives that promote sustainable development and celebrate our rich cultural heritage.
