young people have great potential to contribute to peaceful societies they are also especially vulnerable to being recruited for violence
While young people have great potential to contribute to peaceful societies, they are also especially vulnerable to being recruited for violence, whether as thugs to intimidate or harm political opponents during elections, as members of criminal gangs, or as participants of armed groups in civil wars or extremist insurgencies. Community groups in Uganda were found to have reduced young people’s susceptibility to being recruited or manipulated for violence

some day everything will be okay
Youth can be, and are, positive role models for society. As much as violence has knocked them down, they’ve stood back up. Today’s youth fight for a better tomorrow because they’re the ones who are forced to live in it. This International Youth Day we celebrate the young people building peace across the world.
However, today’s youth are also some of the strongest and most successful advocates for peace. One of our Pakistani partners, Aware Girls, has had great success in saving their peers from indoctrination and radicalization.
Youth can be, and are, positive role models for society. As much as violence has knocked them down, they’ve stood back up. Today’s youth fight for a better tomorrow because they’re the ones who are forced to live in it. This International Youth Day we celebrate the young people building peace across the world.
The United Nations designated today, August 12, to be International Youth Day as a means to recognize and draw attention to the struggles that youth around the world are facing. While youths are particularly susceptible to violence and often suffer the most, they are also the group that has proven time and time again that they can make a serious and positive impact through efforts to bring about peace. This generation of youth consists of about 1.8 billion people, the largest the world has seen, and they’re about to make history.
With more than 600 million living in conflict areas, youths have experienced some of the most negative effects of violence. Many others are forced to become refugees or displaced, often separating families from each other. Armed groups target young children due to their susceptibility towards radicalization, and thus the eventual rise in violent extremism. According to the UN, hundreds of thousands of youth are affiliated with different sorts of armed groups. This turns innocent children into child soldiers. About 90% of the casualties in direct conflicts are young males. Not only does this cause direct harm to youth, it also puts a halt on their education. Without an education, youths fall behind and this not only is a detriment to their own future success but threatens the stability and development of the communities in which they live.
However, today’s youth are also some of the strongest and most successful advocates for peace. One of our Pakistani partners, Aware Girls, has had great success in saving their peers from indoctrination and radicalization.
In August, Japan, the United Kingdom, and Germany suspended direct funding of Uganda’s refugee programme because the government failed to punish government and aid officials who colluded in the fraudulent inflation of the refugee population according to the UN’s 2018 audit report, which revealed gross mismanagement of funds meant for refugees.
In May, the European Union Delegation, the Heads of Mission of Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Sweden and UK and the Heads of Mission of Iceland, Japan, Norway, Republic of Korea and United States issued a joint statement regarding freedom of expression and assembly in Uganda, citing in particular the UCC’s April 30 decision to suspend senior staff of 13 radio and television stations on allegations of breaching minimum broadcasting standards. They also expressed concerns over the excessive use of force by police against peaceful protesters and political opposition.

we love to live a happy life for good and always
Curiosity about life in all of its aspects, I think, is still the secret of great creative people.
Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it.
Inner Peace Quotes:
“Never be in a hurry; do everything quietly and in a calm spirit.
“The life of inner peace, being harmonious and without stress, is the easiest type of existence.
“Do not let the behavior of others destroy your inner peace.
Peace is not only better than war, but infinitely more arduous.”
“The day I understood everything, was the day I stopped trying to figure everything out. The day I knew peace was the day I let
everything go.”
“When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace.”
“If someone thinks that peace and love are just a cliche that must have been left behind in the 60s, that’s a problem. Peace and love are eternal.”

OUR OBJECTIVES ON PEACE & SECURITY:
To strengthen stabilisation efforts in the violence hotspots through a) enhanced coordination and accountability (enabling the mapping of key basic services and causal factors for peace) and b) stronger involvement of local youth as monitors.
An objective, simplified overview of all efforts unfolding on the ground through the mapping of stabilisation activities in the conflict affected regions.
The capacity and role of local youth is strengthened through their involvement in the mapping and monitoring processes.
Data analysis, transparency, positive digital media use, inter-faith and inter-generational dialogues, accountability and integrity are strengthened.
Improved coordination between stakeholders leading to better-targeted resource allocation.
OUR ACTIVITIES AND ASPIRATIONS ON PEACE & SECURITY
In specific strategic locations of affected regions, identify key focus sectors (e.g education, health, local governance, youth employment, countering violent extremism, prioritised in the The Youth Cafe Stabilisation Strategy) on which a mapping and youth monitoring approach will be piloted;
Developing, maintaining and updating a user-friendly map-based platform, to map the stabilisation infrastructures in the target locations and sectors. This should build on existing data collection and analysis tools if available;
Designing a local monitoring method which ensures local buy-in, notably through the involvement of youth;
Selecting, training and supporting local youth to collect data, using locally adapted digital tools and compensating their services;
Disseminating information locally and internationally on the platform and the "new way of working";
Coordinating closely with key institutions (notably AU, UN and other partners), local stakeholders, relevant key public actors and international organisations, to encourage their use of the data and tools, and for scale-up and sustainability.
Generations For Peace change-makers address issues of cultural and structural violence in their own communities, where contexts include inter-tribal, inter-ethnic, inter-religious violence; gender inequality; exclusion of minorities (IDPs, refugees, people with a disability); post-conflict trauma response; and reconciliation and reintegration. Additionally, our approach integrates conflict sensitivity and the full participation and empowerment of girls and women (in implementation of UNSCR1325).
Our programme monitoring and evaluations show evidence of increased volunteerism, youth engagement, responsible citizenship, and empowerment of girls and women, as well as greater self-sufficiency and capacity, increased social capital networks, reductions in violence, breaking of stereotypes, and greater tolerance, trust, and understanding.
