Inter-Disciplinary Research Platform for Innovation - IRPI
IRPI integrates innovation and research to solve emerging problems in Africa
Pro. John from St. John university in New York told me a few months ago that Uganda is greatly driven by opinions rather than facts. He based his argument on the way we percieve, involve and the nature of research done in Uganda. Maybe, we can make a difference as far as research is perceived, done and the way to go in the modern world
Among the many objectives of IRPI are the following:
a) To establish and conduct programs aimed at building capacity among researchers and academicians in view of helping more scholars acquire more practical research oriented knowledge required for innovation.
b) To contribute to the improvement of the teaching of research;
c) To improve the awareness, image and salience of research, amongst the general public, and all those engaged in the field of research.
d) To provide a forum through which research and matters related to research can be discussed and exchanged by professionals, scholars, students or any other group of people with interest on research
In line with the above objectives, IRPI will run a series of articles whose sole aim is to demystify research. Please watch out for these articles. In these articles we shall explore such aspects as:
= The research process; theories in research; principles of literature review; research designs, population and sampling; data collection; qualitative data analysis, quantitative data analysis (descriptive and inferential statistics) and research ethics =
Please feel free to interact with the researchers at IRPI by providing feedback.
Authentic research is still unknown in Uganda. These political polls giving M7 a 71 % lead need to be investigated on their methodology, scope and respondents used
There is so much one can do as a youth, however the skills gap that exists between what we learn at school and what the job markets are looking for is a challenge.
should you empower the parents to be out of poverty so that they can cater for their children well ( send them to Better schools, invest for them...) or should the focus be on the children/youth so that they can uplift their parents later just because they have the potential! ? what would be your inclination?
The youth in Uganda are the driving force of this economy, if only they could realize their potential and exploit it full

WITHOUT blaming the Government for a while...Given a Chance, What would you do to REDUCE the Rate of UNEMPLOYMENT in UGANDA
