COSECSA is inviting submissions for the 2026 Lindsay Stewart Prize, recognising the best scientific paper presented by a trainee at the COSECSA Conference in Lilongwe, Malawi, on 3rd -4th December 2026.
Open to young surgeons registered in a COSECSA Training Programme, the prize, a medal and £1,000 is awarded in collaboration with the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh at the conference's closing ceremony.
Recognising outstanding trainee research is central to strengthening surgical training capacity across East, Central and Southern Africa. Eligible papers must be original, accepted for oral presentation, and presented in person by the first author.
