My dearest sister Tuncin preparing herself fro the Yawanawa traditional games.
These games come from a deeper place - skills from the forest, turned into play over generations. But they’ve also become something else: a way people meet, relate, and connect. A kind of courting without saying it out loud.
The darting of fish, the patience of hunters, the quick reflexes needed to survive - all of these became the seeds of games. Elders say the spirit of the forest taught people through imitation: if you could play well, you could live well. Over generations, these practical skills softened into playful contests, but they never lost their deeper purpose.
But not all of it is serious - far from it. Many Yawanawa games double as courting rituals, where young men and women test not only strength or agility, but charm, wit, and presence. A game might begin as a simple challenge - who can run faster, who is the strongest, or aim more precisely - but beneath it is a gentle dance of attraction, of courting a potential new beloved.
So the Yawanawa games come from the forest, from necessity, from spirit - but they live on through joy. They are where skill meets storytelling, and where, sometimes, a simple game becomes the beginning of a love story.

I have witnessed the tears falling, bodies shaking as old traumas are released, the wail of the wild woman returning home. I have seen what happens when all parts are welcomed back in - when her truth awakens, her vibrancy ignites, her voice rises, her sensuality reclaims its place. From this remembrance, a deeper love and acceptance for who she truly is emerges, in her full and radiant totality.
I am so excited to be returning to Costa Rica after two years, where I will be offering special empowerment shoots. These sessions include a pre-consultation, a guided meditation, and deeply held space as you move through any blockages - so you can be seen, felt, and captured in your fullest expression.

This year has pushed me beyond edges I knew I had, asking me to stretch into layers of grief and expansion I didn’t know existed. It has been one of the most challenging years I’ve known in a long time. And yet, in fully feeling what it means to be human, I felt a deep urgency - as if tomorrow may not be - to finally follow my childhood dream of underwater photography. In my own small way, to help protect the ocean, to amplify the voices that cannot speak, and to reconnect with the immense joy of my younger self — feeling free, safe, and at home beneath the water. It’s been the start of my biggest dream come true.. and I am truly proud of myself.
My wish for all of us in this next stage of reflections is that we find the courage to follow what truly lights us up. Life is fragile and fleeting, and tomorrow is never promised. So why not do those things you always dreamed of doing?

The oceans are the lungs of our planet, producing over 50% of the oxygen we breathe, home to millions of species, and carrying the songs of humpback whales across the waves.
Through art, movement, and voice, we become storytellers, guardians, and changemakers — creating ripples of inspiration that guide others back into harmony with the ocean.
🌊 We are excited to announce our Whale Expedition in French Polynesia - designed to bring impact-creators together to inspire and make art from the inspiration of humpback whales.
Allow the whales to guide your breath, the ocean to move through your body, and the coral to show the harmony of all living things.

Editing is the bridge between what the camera saw and what the soul felt. 🐋
There is so much magic in unveiling an image once lost to the foggy waters and, through editing, infusing it with the emotion and sensation that moved through the camera operator’s body in that moment.
It’s revealing the feeling within the image - the breathtaking sensation of witnessing the elegant dance of a mother and calf, or the depth of a gaze that holds a million stories, cries, deaths and births. It’s bringing back the emotion, the feeling, the presence that lived inside the moment.
Editing, then, is not about perfection - it’s about honouring the truth of the experience: fluid, sacred, and alive.
