Sadly, it seems almost all registry offices are requiring couples whom, "DIY" their own paperwork and then going on their own to register their marriage, must wait at least 40 days while the Registry office verifies their documents.

This couple contacted us in the afternoon and we had them registered in BKK by 9:00 am the following morning.

Today was a busy day for "Legally Married in Thailand" with the successful registration of two couples today. This couple registered in Bangkok the bride being from the Philipines and the Groom is an American citizen.

The Chiang Mai Registration is a Canadian and Thai couple.

Since the reopening of Thailand, we have had many couples from the Philipines and certainly have found the processes longer than normal but can be combined with a nice long Thailand holiday so can be a win-win for the couples.

I personally would like to thank Ben & Maria Fe for their confidence and understanding in the extended procedures at these times.

“Me and my fiancé came to Bangkok looking to get married after doing extensive research online. We figured we could make it ourselves and after getting all the documents together, we head to the Amphur to register the marriage and they send us away saying it would take at least two months (this is the friendliest Amphur according to information online).

We then started looking for professional help and got in touch with Jit. She literally saved us, helping and messaging us during the weekends, checking all our documents and organising everything. Her staff picked us up on Tuesday morning and took us to another Amphur where all we had to do was sit there and sign all the documents. What you need to marry in Thailand.

1) Your embassy provides their consent for you to marry. This is done by issuing an affidavit stating you are free to marry under Thai law.

2) You must be at least 20 years of age. Unless both parents provide consent in person at the registry office. See our website for if under 20 years of age.

3) You must be mentally sane and of legal capacity.

4) You must not be related by direct bloodline.

5) You must not be adopted, siblings or parents.

6) If the bride is divorced less than 310 days before the date of remarriage. She must not be pregnant. As proven by a Thai approved hospital.

7) You can not be a same-sex couple.

8 ) You can not be legally married to another person at the time of marriage registration. Even if is legal in your country.
