‘Once you come to Pak Up, you will never want to pak up.’ Since opening, we have won many an award such as voted ‘Top 3 Hostels in Asia’ by hostelbookers.
Thousands of real reviews with a consistently high rating and numerous features in travel blogs around the world recommend us as a top global hostel suggests you are in the right place. Book now to see why and experience what we are about:

Now, a lot of young people are like, "Oh, I have anxiety." Back in the day, we used "anxiety" sparingly, like if you were strolling through a forest full of bears or you were about to get mugged by punks in an alley. But now, everyone's like, "Oh, these are the times, we're all worried." 😬
But here's the thing, it's actually easy to treat. We've done the research. 🔬 You know what the cure is? A good old-fashioned pub crawl. Seriously. You get into a tuk-tuk with a bunch of other anxious guys, clutching a bucket of mojito, and suddenly, anxiety starts morphing into courage.
It's like, "Oh, I might have to talk to people," but then three mojitos in, you're like, "I can conquer the world!" or at least make it back to the tuk-tuk without face-planting. And that's when you realize: anxiety? That's just your brain being sober.🧏♂️
😼 Listen, when it comes to a bar crawl in Ao Nang, we're not talking about scaling Mount Everest here. We're just trying to have a good time without ending up in a Thai version of "The Hangover." So, instead of risking life and limb on a motorbike with hair flying in the wind like some sort of reckless cowboy, we opt for the sensible option—a beautiful bus that takes us to our destination in one piece. Safety first, people. Let's keep the chaos confined to the dance floor, shall we? 🫶
A very true story of Chang Beer….📖
Far far away, in the icy realms of Iceland, there lived a couple named Bjorn and Helga. Now, Bjorn and Helga were no ordinary couple—they were adventurers with a taste for the exotic. So, when it came time to plan their honeymoon, they decided to skip the cliché beach resorts and head straight for the tropical paradise of Thailand.
But there was one thing driving their decision—a burning desire to taste the legendary Chang Beer. You see, Bjorn had heard tales of this mystical brew from his backpacker days, and he couldn't shake the craving for that crisp, refreshing taste.
So, armed with nothing but their backpacks and a thirst for adventure (and beer), Bjorn and Helga set off on the journey of a lifetime. They endured long flights, dodgy street food, and more than a few very budget hostel beds, all in pursuit of that elusive elixir.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity of travel, they arrived in Thailand. With trembling hands and watering mouths, they made their way to the nearest bar and ordered two ice-cold bottles of Chang Beer.
As they took that first sip, their taste buds exploded with joy. It was everything they had dreamed of and more—a symphony of flavors, a chorus of hops and barley, a liquid miracle in a bottle.
But their adventure didn't end there. No, Bjorn and Helga were determined to share their newfound love with the world. So, they packed their bags once again and set off on a whirlwind tour of Europe, spreading the gospel of Chang Beer to every corner of the continent.
From Paris to Prague, Rome to Reykjavik, Bjorn and Helga regaled anyone who would listen with tales of their epic beer-fueled journey. And as they toasted to their newfound love and the adventures that lay ahead, they knew that they had found something truly special—a love that was as timeless and enduring as a cold bottle of Chang Beer on a hot summer day.
Remember 🔞 alcohol is harmful 👆 but fictional stories are completely acceptable.
To keep our crown 👑 as Krabi's hottest hostel, we're always on the grind, upgrading like it’s our full-time job (which, let's be real, it kind of is). Our guests dig it—they keep coming back for more, like moths to a hostel upgrade flame!
👌 Check out our bar. It used to be your run-of-the-mill joint with a pool table and cheap brews. But now? It's a swanky oasis complete with a swimming pool, plush sofas, and, you guessed it, still cheap booze! It's like the bar equivalent of Cinderella’s transformation, but with more happy hour specials and fewer glass slippers.
Let’s describe it with a bit of poetry…
🤙 In Krabi’s embrace, where dreams take flight,
Pak Up Hostel shines, ever bright.
With laughter and fun, from day to night,
It’s the ultimate spot, a backpacker’s delight! Yo 🙌
it’s never too late to share more photos from Songkran, even if the festival was a week ago 😐 We don’t want it to end, but apparently someone up there (might be a word government) 🤫 made an executive decision—‘Alright, that’s enough fun for now.’ But lucky us! We’ve got these extra images, just sitting around, waiting to be unleashed on you. Because what’s better than reliving a water fight through a digital screen? Absolutely thrilling!
Another year has zoomed by, and in Thailand, we sent it off the way we know best—with a bucket of water! Yup, that’s how we roll: out with the old, in with the splash. It’s like our version of a New Year’s bath, only everyone’s invited, and nobody stays dry. Here’s to hoping this new year is as fresh and clean as we are after a Songkran soaking. We do everything with a grin and a giggle because, getting drenched is the Thai way to party.
Happy Songkran, everyone! Let’s wash into the new year with style!
We have more tuk tuk stories to tell…”how is it started “
Once upon a time in Thailand, a genius inventor gazed at a bicycle and thought, “Let’s add a motor, two more wheels, and make it sound like a small duck!” Thus, the tuk-tuk was born, named after its distinctive ‘tuk-tuk-tuk’ engine sound, a symphony to the ears of late-night wanderers.
For backpackers, these little four-wheeled chariots are crucial. Imagine you’re bar-hopping. You step out, slightly wobbly, and there it is: your trusty tuk-tuk, ready to whisk you away to the next watering hole. It’s like having a magic carpet, but with more honking and less flying.
Navigating the streets in a tuk-tuk is like being in a real-life video game, dodging obstacles and racing against time. And the drivers? They’re the unsung heroes, part-time tour guides with the driving skills of stunt performers.
In the end, the tuk-tuk isn’t just a ride; it’s an experience, a story, and for many backpackers, the savior of sore feet and the hero of the night-time odyssey! 🛺🌃🎉
Sometimes good news comes to us without warning. 🙏❗️
The hostel community has its own Oscar, called Hoscar, which is very original. This time we got it for the best hostel in Krabi and thank Hostelworld for this smart choice.
But we wouldn’t want to stop there and plan to receive a Hrammy for the soundtrack in our lobby, a Holden Hlobe for the best original script for our parties and the Hostel Lions for the best posts on social media.
We thank everyone who has been with us all these years and our mothers who believed in us, this award is dedicated to you 🥹🏆
Every single guest at Pak Up Hostel should experience a boat trip in Krabi for a few key reasons. ✌️
First off, You get to navigate through stunning landscapes that make your usual Instagram backdrops look like amateur hour.
On this boat trip, you can test your wildlife spotting skills. See a bird? Now you’re a birdwatcher. Spot a fish? Congratulations, you’re practically a marine biologist. 👀
it’s the perfect way to show off your ‘nautical’ side on social media. Nothing says rugged adventurer like a windswept selfie on a boat with Krabi’s breathtaking scenery in the background.
Choosing a tuk-tuk isn’t just about getting from A to B; it’s about the stories you’ll tell later – like that time you almost high-fived a pedestrian or became a temporary part of a street market!
So grab your shades, leave your comfort zone at the hostel, and embrace the tuk-tuk experience – it’s like a theme park ride through the streets of Krabi!
🫤👉 Here’s your guide to mastering the art of the Pub Crawl, Pak Up style!
🎩🩳 Dress Code: Comfort with a dash of crazy. It’s a pub crawl, not a fashion show, but if your outfit screams ‘I’m here to party’, you’re doing it right.
🧝🏾♂️🪣🧝🏻Buddy System: Find your pub crawl soulmate. It’s like a regular soulmate, but with more high-fives and shared buckets.
🐸🍺Pace Yourself: It’s a marathon, not a sprint. Remember, the tortoise won the race and still had time for a pint.
💧👅Hydration is Key: Water is your new best friend. The goal is to wake up with memories, not just a hangover.
🦸🫳🥴No Man Left Behind: If you see a fellow crawler stranded, be a hero. Lead them to the next pub or at least point them in the right direction.
💀🌭Snack Attacks: Eat as if you’re about to hibernate. Pub snacks aren’t just tasty; they’re survival tools.
👟👟Dance Protocol: Break out those dance moves – yes, even the ‘shopping cart’ and ‘lawn mower’ are welcome here.
🧙♂️🛖Local Love: Blend in with the locals. Remember, they know where the best late-night food hideouts are.
🤡🤳Snap Responsibly: Capture the fun, but let’s not make tomorrow’s social media a minefield of regret.
📔Embrace the Unexpected: Every pub has its story, and so will you after tonight.
Why do real backpackers choose Pak Up Hostel? Simple – it’s the only place where your budget feels like a millionaire and your backpack feels like a feather! Our beds are so comfy, even the most adventurous travelers consider a lazy day in. Plus, our walls have heard more travel tales than a seasoned guidebook.
At Pak Up, you’ll meet fellow backpackers who can’t point out north on a compass but can certainly find the best street food at 2 AM. It’s where maps are optional, but fun is mandatory. Choose us because here, every night feels like a reunion with friends you never knew you had. Pak Up: where stories are shared, friendships are made, and socks mysteriously disappear. 🎒🗺️
🧘
You’re on the Pak Up hostel rooftop, not to spot UFOs, but for something even more out-of-this-world: yoga! Yes, yoga – where you bend and twist like a human pretzel, but feel amazing doing it.
If you think a tank top is just for wearing like a normal shirt on a body, you’re living in a box man 📦 🤨
Tank top is the Swiss Army Knife of pub crawl fashion. You can tie it on your head, Rambo-style, or go full-on fashionista and wrap it around your arm. Heck, make a hip belt out of it! This is your time to shine in the creativity department. Wear it however you feel cool, or ridiculous, or ridiculously cool. Just remember, it’s also our secret code to figure out who we need to roll back to the hostel at the end of the night, safe and sound. Stay classy and creative, pub crawlers! 🌟🍻👕
“Why is a bar in a hostel better than Tinder?” ❤️
Ah, let me count the ways! First off, a hostel bar is like Tinder in 3D – real people in real time, and you don’t have to swipe left or right, just take a seat! The connection’s faster than your Wi-Fi – no waiting for replies, just real-time banter.
Then there’s the bios. Forget reading through a profile that says “loves adventures” – in a hostel bar, you can see the adventure in their eyes, or at least in their choice of drink. And those awkward “Are you a cat or a dog person?” conversations? Replace them with a shared plate of fries – way more telling.
Plus, in a hostel bar, you get instant reviews – not from profiles, but from the bartender who’s seen it all. And the best part? If the chemistry isn’t there, you’re already at a bar! No hard feelings, just another round.
So, why settle for swiping through photos when you can clink glasses with new friends or more at a hostel bar? It’s where true connections are made, one cheers at a time! 🍻💕👫
Why do we need matching T-shirts on a pub crawl, you ask? (May be not)🙄
It's simple – it's like being on a sports team, but the only athletic activity is lifting your drink! Think of it as a uniform for the Unofficial Drinking Olympics. It's not just fabric; it's a badge of honor, a symbol of unity in the face of... well, numerous drink specials. Plus, it's super helpful for finding your fellow crawlers after you've had a few and everyone starts to look like blurry twins. In the sea of nightlife, those matching shirts are like a lighthouse for the tipsy. So, suit up, team! We're going in! 🍻👕🏆 🥴
Before our epic Ao Nang pub crawl, we kick off at our bar for some pre-game fun. Think of it as a warm-up session, where drinks flow and wild conversations unfold. Our staff are like talent scouts for party endurance, keeping an eye on who can hold their drink and who’s likely to crash early. Surviving this first round is like a badge of honor, earning you a spot in our legendary pre-crawl photo. It’s the starting line for a night of adventure in bars that would have parents blushing. Get ready for a night to remember! 🍹🎉👑
A good day turns into a great one when you spend it in a refreshing pool 😅
let's break it down….📋
We've got a pressing issue at hand: posting pre-party guest photos with captions that are as necessary as pineapple on pizza (controversial, I know). Usually, you'll see our guests cheesing it up at the reception or posing on the bus. But then, p**f! No more photos. It's like they've entered the Bermuda Triangle of Ao Nang’s nightlife.🛸
Why the radio silence? Well, maybe our guests don't fancy future offspring seeing them hugging a pole, bucket drink in hand, and dancing like nobody's watching (but everyone is). Or perhaps, after donning their Pub Crawl T-shirts, they make a beeline to their rooms for a wild night of... well, sleep.
Or, and here's the twist, maybe we're keeping the best bits a mystery. Why? Because we want YOU to be itching to jump into that photo frame and make some memories. So come on down, and let's make some post-worthy, mystery-filled fun together.
Welcome to the grand adventure of 2024! Hats off to you as we celebrate another tick of the clock. Sure, we're all a year older – but hey, that's just more experience for our journey, right? And let's be real, this year's set to be a wild ride, surely topping the charts compared to the rollercoaster of 2020-2023!
To all you intrepid explorers who've passed through our doors, leaving behind stories (and the occasional sock), we salute you. Your adventures fuel our fire, and we're gearing up to make your next stay even more legendary. Here's to a New Year filled with uncharted territories, laughter, and memories waiting to be made. Happy New Year, adventurers! 🎉🗺️🥂
Hey there, Merry Belated Christmas and an early Happy New Year! 🥁 We’re running a little behind on our holiday cheers, but hey, in the spirit of the season, it’s better late than never, right? Now, back to Christmas – sure, it’s typically all about family, but our guests? They turned it up a notch and found their holiday kin right here! We rocked a pub crawl that would make Santa himself want to join in. Imagine the fun, the laughter, and not a single soul left “Home Alone.” 😱 We were one big, merry bunch, creating our own family away from home. Cheers to festive fun and friends who feel like family! 🎄🍻🎉
Before hostels in Thailand, travellers roamed like wild animals, searching for places to sleep. Picture a backpacker, map in one hand, hope in the other, wandering through the streets, seeking any spot that looked mildly comfortable. They’d pitch tents in odd places, make friends with locals just to snag a couch, or, in true adventurous spirit, snooze under the stars, turning mosquito dodging into an Olympic sport. It was less of a vacation, more of a game of survival – “Backpacker Edition”! 🎒⛺🌴
But that’s all ancient history now. Today, we've leveled up! Backpackers glide from place to place with the ease of a well-oiled tuk-tuk. The journey to the party is as comfy as a cloud, and the return? Gliding back to a cozy bed, no tent pitching or couch surfing required. It's like backpacking got an upgrade to first class! 🚀🛏️🎉
You're a backpacker, waking up to the sound of... absolutely nothing. No alarm clock, just your own rumbling stomach. You stumble out of bed, dreaming of breakfast. But what's better than a good breakfast? A FREE breakfast!
Every bite is a reminder that the day is already off to a fantastic start. Here, we don't just feed you; we treat your taste buds like royalty because, let's face it, backpackers deserve a feast! 🍳☕🥣
Alright, so you're weighing your options: 😁 a hostel that's buzzing with people versus one 🥱where you can hear a pin drop.
On one hand, a packed hostel is like a non-stop party. You've got all these travelers, each with stories that range from inspiring to "I-can't-believe-you-survived-that". You're never alone, which means you're always a conversation away from your next best friend or your next "why did I talk to this person?" moment.
Then there's the quiet hostel. It's like being in a library, but you're allowed to sleep there. Peaceful, sure, but the excitement level rivals watching paint dry. You spend so much time alone, you start having deep conversations with your backpack.
In the end, it's chaos and companionship versus peace and potential boredom. The bustling hostel is a crash course in human sociology, minus the tuition fees. The quiet one? It's a meditation retreat without the enlightenment. Take your pick💁♂️
Joining the Loy Krathong festival at Pak Up hostel is an experience like no other. We gather with guests to craft our own krathongs, floating floral offerings. Laughter echoes as we navigate the intricate art of krathong-making, sharing stories and cultural insights.
The scent of flowers and flickering candles fills the air as we release our creations onto the water, joining the mesmerizing river of lights. It’s a communal celebration, a blend of local traditions and newfound friendships. Loy Krathong isn’t just a festival; it’s a magical moment we create together, bridging cultures and crafting memories that linger long after the river carries our krathongs away. ❤️
So, you and your pal are sitting there, bored out of your minds 🫤😑, looking for something that screams ‘mild excitement.’ Suddenly, kayaking in Krabi seems like a good idea. Why? Well, first off, it’s apparently good for you. Instead of nursing a beer, you’re gripping a paddle – a real upgrade in the world of leisure activities.🛶
Then there’s the whole ‘trapped audience’ aspect. You’re out there, in the middle of nowhere, with your friend. Where’s he gonna go? Perfect time to unload all your life’s troubles😩. He’s got no choice but to listen 🤔– it’s either that or swim back.
And let’s not forget the photos. You’ll look like adventurers, explorers… or just two guys awkwardly trying to steer a kayak. Then, the hostel you booked this ‘exhilarating’ experience through might just slap those pictures on their social media. And of course, their SMM manager will come up with some goofy caption, trying to make your average adventure sound like the next big blockbuster. 📸
So, the ocean, right? 🫤 Big, salty, and full of creatures that seem to exist just to ruin your day. You go in for a swim, and you come out looking like a human pretzel, all while trying not to get stung by jellyfish.
But then, there’s our hostel pool. It’s like the ocean, minus everything annoying about the ocean. You can do your group synchronized swimming, making those fancy hand gestures, and pretend you’re an Olympic star, because let’s be real, nobody’s watching.
👉🍺And, oh, the bar right by the pool. It’s like they knew you’d need a drink after pretending to be a dolphin for an hour. No need to cross a desert for a cold one, it’s just a stumble away. And when hunger strikes, because swimming and drinking are apparently hard work, we’ve got a kitchen. Suddenly, you’re a Pad Thai master after one class👌.
“Here’s food, here’s drink, and here’s water without the sea drama.” It’s the perfect circle… of vacation life! 🍜🍹🏊♂️
Ah, the High Season, or as I like to call it, "Escape the Frosty Grip of Winter and Flock to Thailand" season! 🌴 The moment when Thailand shakes off its rainy slumber like a soap opera character waking from a coma. Plane tickets skyrocket faster than a hair in humidity, while boats in Ao Nang play musical chairs for the primo spots on the sand.
Then there's the tuk tuk drivers, who become so eager to take you... well, anywhere, that you'd think they were trying to earn frequent flyer miles. The souvenir shops? Overflowing with 'authentic' Thai treasures, straight from the heart of... China. And let's not forget 7-11, where cheese sandwich sales boom like it’s Black Friday.
Over in the bars, musicians serenade you with "WanderWall" - because who doesn't love a one-hit wonder on repeat? And us at the hostel? We're diving headfirst into the delightful pandemonium of check-ins and tour advice, we truly love this stuff . So welcome home, dear guests, to our beautifully organized chaos 🤝
Ah, winter. That magical time of year when half the globe turns into a freezer section 🥶. You know, where you suit up like you're about to climb Everest just to grab a bagel. Caps, socks, gloves—what is this, a yard sale on my body? And then, the commute! A slip-and-slide adventure to work, where the grand prize is bruising your dignity along with your backside. Winter's great, for, oh, about the length of a Christmas carol.
Or—and just hear me out—you could be sprawled out by a pool, mojito in hand🍹, getting to know a parade of the world's most charming backpackers, where the most ice you encounter is in your glass. That, my friend, is the Thai way. Welcome to the land of eternal poolside summer😘
