🎉✨ Congratulations to นางสาวชลลดา ผาอินดี and นางสาววรีทิพย์ นนทะศรี from the College of Computing, Khon Kaen University on successfully completing their cooperative education in the Remote Sensing and GIS/ ICT AIT School of Engineering and Technology

Throughout their cooperative education, they have achieved two mains significant:

Student Project: Urban Problem Analysis in Bangkok (2022-2024) using Traffy Fondue Public Complaint System; Their project focused on:
- Analyzing complaint data reported through the Traffy Fondue platform to identify the most common types of urban issues in different zones of Bangkok.
- Applying K-Means clustering to group similar problems and uncover spatial patterns of reported urban issues within the city.

Research/Project Supporting: Wastewater Truck Service Routes, by contributed by digitizing service routes based on point data and developing maps for wastewater suction service locations.
- Volunteer Work: FOSS4G-Asia 2024 Preparation
They actively participated as volunteers for FOSS4G-Asia 2024, supporting event preparation tasks and contributing to the open-source geospatial community.
- Website Functionality Testing: Additionally, they assisted in checking and testing the functionality of DSPOT WISE and FSTOOLS websites, ensuring smooth operation and system stability.

👏 Well done, Chonlada and Wareethip!

🎉 Congratulations to Jidapa Meeudon and Sunanta Saengsila from the Faculty of Agriculture, Natural Resources, and Environment, Naresuan University (NU) on successfully completing their Co-operative education in the Remote Sensing and GIS, AIT School of Engineering and Technology 🎉

During their four-month internship, they have contributed to the development of two significant geospatial platforms, integrating field data collection using a LINE API, enabling seamless real-time data input from mobile devices.

🌿 CarbonView: Tree Inventory and Carbon Stock
A geospatial web platform for tree inventory and carbon stock management. It provides tools for mapping, monitoring, and analyzing carbon storage across different locations, helping organizations track tree data and assess their carbon footprint with spatial precision.

🚔 LukkaGeoPatrol
A geospatial platform designed to streamline patrol operations and incident management. By integrating live mapping, real-time incident reporting, and spatial analytics, it enhances law enforcement’s ability to respond swiftly and effectively. This Platform developed in collaboration with Lamlukka Police Station, Pathum Thani. LukkaGeoPatrol empowers officers with actionable insights, optimizing situational awareness and resource deployment.

Volunteer Work: FOSS4G-Asia 2024 Preparation
They actively participated as volunteers for FOSS4G-Asia 2024, supporting event preparation tasks and contributing to the open-source geospatial community.

👏 Well done, Jidapa and Sunanta! Your dedication and contributions to geospatial technology are truly commendable. 🚀

A gentle reminder. Today at 1:30 PM (ICT).

Join us for an insightful seminar on earth observation at night using the Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) by Dr. Christopher D. Elvidge. Dr. Elvidge is the Director of the Earth Observation Group, Colorado School of Mines. He is also AIT Visiting Faculty and teaches a course in RSGIS/ SET.

Title: Earth Observation at Night with VIIRS
Date: Wednesday, 12 February 2025
Time: 13:30 - 15:00 hrs
Venue: Milton Bender Auditorium
Zoom link: https://thairen.zoom.us/j/69246209509?pwd=ht6KNI2cfI4nQhlRhBOTiAmxhM1tbI.1

About the speaker:
Dr. Elvidge pioneered the development of global satellite derived nighttime lights and led the production of a three-decade time series of global DMSP and VIIRS nighttime lights (1992-2023). These data products are widely used in a diverse range of fields, ranging from biology, urban sciences, economics, and light pollution. Elvidge was instrumental in establishing the DMSP digital archive at NOAA and led the media migration that rescued the digital records from aging tapes. In 2012, Elvidge conceived of and led the development of the VIIRS nightfire (VNF) product using a combination of near-infrared, shortwave infrared and mid-wave infrared channels. VNF is the only global fire product reporting temperature, source area, and radiant heat on 24-hour increments. Today, the Earth Observation Group is one the largest independent producers of global VIIRS data products, ingesting and processing 150 GB of nighttime VIIRS data per day from each sensor with three product lines: lights, boats, fires and flares.

Elvidge has been actively publishing since 1978 and has 230 published papers. According to Google Scholar, as of January 2025, Dr. Elvidge has more than 37,000 citations in scientific literature.
