The definition of tranquility. Enjoying my brew on the banks of the River Kwai. There are worst ways to spend a Saturday morning.

Wet weather programme. Get the kettle on.

A sign of normality returning, hosting Khoa P**n Village school history class and then checking compost production, all in a days work

Done the morning rounds, totally quiet courtesy of the new Covid restrictions.

Well that's the holidays done. Looks like the cool weather is back. I had the novelty of the bathroom mirror steaming up this morning!

Well the sun rises over the River Kwai. The start of, what will be for many, a very testing Christmas week. Look after you and yours as best you can, I am not mentioning 2021 too much for fear of jinxing it!

Sunday morning and pleasantly cool. No early morning stroll for the pup, she's still enjoying her new bed!😴

After a bit of heavy rain somebody popped out to enjoy the sun. Best not to disturb!

0520, rise and shine, well no shine yet. Toast and Marmite and listening to the rain. Heavy rain forecast.

VJ day preparation halted by heavy rain. Hard to see the mountain on the other side of the river. More rain forecast. If visiting tomorrow an umbrella might be good to have.

In these photos we see former and current staff who between them cover every year from the end of WWII to the present day maintaining Kanchanaburi and Chungkai War Cemeteries.

Today the team and I make merit (tamboon). In these testing times of Covid, storm damage and car accidents we count our blessings.
The primary reason for the ceremony is to honour and remember those that lay in our care. Nearly 75 year ago, those that survived on this site, would finally receive their freedom from captivity but not from the horrors they had experienced. Lest we forget.

With VJ day 75 approaching Chungkai War Cemetery, the site of a WWII Japanese POW camp, is starting to shine, a benefit of the regular rainfall.
