Asian Boxing invites all Member National Federations to nominate one candidate for consideration to participate in the ITA International Clean Sport Educator Program, supported by World Boxing.

Following a review of all nominations received, Asian Boxing will select one representative from Asia to participate in the internationally recognised programme, which begins on 7 September 2026.

The successful candidate should preferably be a medical doctor or have a background in sports medicine, anti-doping or sports science. Nominees should be fluent in spoken and written English, have a genuine passion for education and the promotion of clean sport, possess experience in anti-doping, athlete health, sports medicine or sports administration, and be committed to delivering anti-doping education programmes within Asia upon successful completion of the course.

The selected participant must also be available to complete the three-month online programme, including all live virtual sessions, peer learning meetings and course assessments.

To nominate a candidate, Member National Federations must submit the following:
Full name
Position/Title
National Federation
Email address
Mobile number
A brief summary outlining the nominee’s qualifications, experience in sport and why they are suitable for the programme

Nominations should be submitted to [email protected] no later than 11 August 2026. Due to the limited timeframe provided by World Boxing, late submissions will not be considered.

Asian Boxing looks forward to receiving nominations from its Member National Federations as it continues to strengthen anti-doping education and promote the values of clean sport across the continent.

World Boxing has confirmed the hosts for the continental and global Olympic qualification tournaments that will form the pathway to the Olympic Games Los Angeles 2028, following a meeting of its Executive Board in Glasgow.

Chaired by World Boxing President Gennadiy Golovkin and Secretary General Tom Dielen, the meeting focused on preparations for the LA2028 Olympic cycle, the international competition calendar, and the continued development of the International Federation.

A major outcome of the meeting was the approval of hosts for the Olympic qualification events across the 2027–2028 cycle.

For Asia, China has been selected to host the Asian Olympic Qualification Tournament in 2027, providing boxers from across the continent with the opportunity to secure places at the Olympic Games Los Angeles 2028.

The confirmed hosts for the Continental Olympic Qualification Tournaments are:

• Americas – United States
• Asia – China
• Europe – European Games, Istanbul
• Oceania – Samoa (pending final documentation)
• Africa – Nigeria (pending final documentation)

The Executive Board also confirmed the hosts for the two World Qualification Tournaments, which will provide athletes with additional opportunities to qualify for LA2028:

• World Qualification Tournament 1 – Italy
• World Qualification Tournament 2 – Hungary

Final hosting agreements for all events will be completed in the coming months.

The Board also reviewed preparations for the 2027 World Boxing Championships in Astana, along with the international competition calendar through to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

Beyond competition matters, the Executive Board discussed governance and organisational development, including preparations for the World Boxing Congress in Panama later this year, progress on governance reforms, membership growth, financial planning, athlete eligibility policies, and the establishment of several new commissions to further strengthen the organisation.
