At Deloitte, we believe that leadership is not defined by title alone, it is demonstrated through the consistency of our values, the way we empower others, and the impact we create through our everyday actions.
“To me, leadership is less about having all the answers and more about enabling and empowering others to find them.”
For Vandana Toshniwal, integrity and empathy are at the heart of her leadership approach. From navigating difficult decisions to fostering honest conversations within her team, she believes effective leadership means doing what is right while cultivating a safe and supportive environment where people feel confident to speak up, challenge perspectives, and grow.
As a female leader in a predominantly male insurance-technology leadership team, Vandana has experienced the impact of strong allyship and sponsorship first-hand. Being supported by leaders who recognised her potential gave her the confidence to pursue bigger opportunities and continues to shape how she creates opportunities for others.
In high-pressure moments, Vandana remains grounded by focusing on the bigger picture — shared goals, outcomes, and what truly matters.

Step by step, we are building healthier habits together! 👟✨
Our Step Challenge campaign encouraged our people to get moving, stay energised, and have fun while competing for exciting rewards. From dancing Zumba consistently to walking more throughout the day, participants found creative ways to stay active and build healthier routines.
Some of our winners also shared their stories on the new habits or activities they tried to increase their daily steps and the challenges they faced along the way. Their experiences remind us that every small step can lead to meaningful change.
This marks the first week of our Step Challenge journey — stay tuned for more inspiring stories from our winners in the coming weeks! 💚

Our Tax & Legal team closed out the fiscal year last week with an evening of celebration, connection, and gratitude.
We were glad to come together to recognise the dedication each member of the team brought to the year, share a meal, and take a moment to appreciate the relationships that make the work meaningful.
These gatherings reflect our continued belief that a strong team culture is built not only through the work we deliver, but through the moments we take to celebrate it together.
Here is to FY26, and to everything the fiscal year ahead holds. 💚

At Deloitte, allyship is a shared responsibility, and inclusive leadership is a collective journey. As workplaces continue to evolve, so does our understanding of what it means to be an active ally and how leaders can help foster inclusive growth.
“Real allyship often happens behind closed doors — in the conversations where opportunities are shaped and decisions about people’s growth are made.”
Nicholas Chan reflects on his 26-year career across Australia, the UK, and Singapore, and how working alongside women leaders and colleagues has shaped his perspective on inclusive leadership and allyship.
From mentors who opened doors at pivotal moments and advocated for his growth, to now championing talent himself, Nicholas emphasises that progression is never a solo effort. While skills can be developed, he believes it is curiosity, ambition, and the willingness to step outside one’s comfort zone that truly set individuals apart.
He is intentional about creating opportunities that stretch individuals and accelerate their growth, while staying aligned with their personal aspirations. In Southeast Asia’s diverse landscape, he highlights that consistent intent among leaders is key to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment. Supporting initiatives that strengthen inclusion and representation is not just about balance today — it is a strategic imperative for the future of an organisation.
