Up & Above Restaurant offer a great mix-and-match set lunch menu to give yourself a mid-day boost with colleagues or family and friends.

The set menu includes a selection of delicious appetizers, main courses and desserts priced at Baht 1,500 per person. Appetizer include beetroot salad with crispy quinoa, avocado, nameko mushroom and Japanese vinegrette, classic Caesar salad and a nicoise salad with tuna furikake, and Kalamata olives. Hearty main course dishes feature roasted duck breast or chicken breast, plus mushroom and truffle barley with parmesan cheese and forest mushroom for non-meat eaters. Sweet endings offer Thai favourites such as sticky rice with mango or a choice of seasonal tropical fruits and ice creams served in matcha wafer baskets.

International buffet lunch

Guests may enjoy an impressive selection of Thai and Western dishes at the Up & Above international buffet luncheon (Monday to Friday). Choices include fresh seafood on ice, mussels from New Zealand and the juiciest local prawns, blue swimmer crab and rock lobster. Highlights of the buffet are grilled oysters with ponzu and wasabi mayonnaise, grilled local scallop on the shell with miso, roasted whole seabass, and New Zealand lamb shank carving with sauces and mint jelly. The buffet choices extend to live cooking stations-prepared fresh pasta with delicious sauces, Mediterranean cold cuts, artisan cheeses, a carvery with roasted meats, a selection of sushi and sashimi and a tantalising choice of desserts and ice cream.

Sunday brunch

The Sunday Brunch includes main course choices prepared to order (à la minute) including pan-seared foie gras on brioche and grilled Canadian lobster, Thai-flavoured dishes, exclusive Japanese creations such as fresh sashimi and sushi, takoyaki, yakitori, tuna tataki with ponzu sauce, udon soup and gyoza, and a wide range of international items available at the extensive buffet. These can be enjoyed with free-flow Champagne, Prosecco, selected wines, local beers, cocktails, mocktails, and soft drinks.

There is something for everyone, including a cornucopia of seafood on ice encompassing freshly shucked French, Australian and American oysters, premium Maine lobster, giant Alaskan king crab, seasonal mud crab, blue crab, succulent prawns, New Zealand mussels, rock lobster and plump Manila clams. The hot seafood menu highlights include river prawns, tiger prawns, Japanese scallop, oysters and squid; from the pasta station comes homemade vermicelli and ravioli with a choice of pesto, carbonara, Bolognese, mussel sauces and creamy mentaiko with nori sauce; while the carvery serves up succulent roasted meats, salmon gravlax with blinins and cream fraiche and a delicious beef Wellington with Yorkshire pudding and a red wine sauce. These dishes are complemented by healthy salads, fresh fruits, and indulgent desserts such as freshly baked chocolate lava cake, and homemade ice cream served with waffle.

Dining à la carte at Up & Above is simplicity itself. Sit in a totally relaxing environment and make your selections from a menu that features popular Western dishes and specialities from various regions in Thailand. Meals start with several dips and a variety of freshly baked breads.

Afternoon Tea

Up & Above Bar is the ideal setting in which to enjoy Okura Afternoon Delight – the hotel’s new signature afternoon tea with distinctive and highly appropriate Japanese touches. This traditional ritual of afternoon tea at The Okura Prestige Bangkok now includes a delicious selection of Japanese savoury delicacies such as Tuna Tataki, Wasabi Cream, Soy Pearl Marinated Tiger Prawns, Shimeji Mushrooms, Chilled Dashi. The sweet choices include traditional Japanese confectionery. Guests may choose from a selection of teas and coffees. There is also a sparkling sake, Prosecco or Champagne option.
