Celebrating National MICE Day: Honoring Thailand’s Legacy in Exhibitions

April 26 marks National MICE Day, a recognition of the pivotal role the MICE industry plays in Thailand’s growth. This date commemorates Thailand’s first national exhibition, held on April 26, 1882, during the reign of King Rama V.

First proposed by Deputy Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and approved by the Thai cabinet, this day reflects Thailand’s rich history of promoting trade, innovation, and global connections—a mission that continues today.

TICA Congratulates Khun Siripakorn Cheawsamoot on His Appointment as Director-General of DASTA

The Thailand Incentive and Convention Association (TICA) is pleased to extend its sincere congratulations to Khun Siripakorn Cheawsamoot on his appointment as the new Director - General of the Designated Areas for Sustainable Tourism Administration (DASTA).

Previously serving as Deputy Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Khun Siripakorn officially assumed his new position on Thursday, 24 April 2025 at 09:30 hrs, at the DASTA office.

To mark this important occasion, a delegation from TICA visited the DASTA office to offer their congratulations in person. The delegation was led by Khun Prachoom Tantiprasertsuk, TICA President, and included Khun Max Boontawee Jantasuwan, Vice President; Khun ChooLeng Goh, Co-Chairperson of the Capabilities Development Committee; and Khun Prapaphan Sungmuang, General Manager.

TICA wishes Khun Siripakorn every success in his new role and looks forward to working together to further the development of sustainable tourism in Thailand.

Supporting the President is a strong leadership team comprising the newly appointed 4 Vice Presidents (Kritsanee Srisatin, Bert Chamrernnusit, Boontawee Jantasuwan and La-iad Bungsrithong), Secretary General (Patranuch Sudasna), and Treasurer (Kritsana Janyasakulwong), along with dedicated committees. The Capabilities Development Committee, chaired by Sutthiporn Fongmool with Co-Chairpersons ChooLeng Goh and Sukamal Mondal, focuses on enhancing member skills and building industry knowledge through training and educational programs. The Marketing Committee, chaired by Juthamas Carranco with Co-Chairpersons Punnaporn Wongjunpen and Thanos Economou, is responsible for promoting Thailand as a premier MICE / Business Events destination and supporting members’ visibility in key markets. The Membership & PR Committee, chaired by Worachada Tangkrachang with Co-Chairpersons Maytas Jiwalai and Sutichai Bunditvorapoom, aims to strengthen engagement, grow the member base, and drive communications both internally and externally.

Together, the new Board of Directors are committed to working collaboratively for the benefit of TICA members and the broader MICE/Business Events community.

Khun Prachoom Tantiprasertsuk Appointed as President

Bangkok, Thailand – 9 April 2025 – The Thailand Incentive and Convention Association (TICA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Khun Prachoom Tantiprasertsuk as President for the 2025–2026 term. Her leadership will guide the association with a strong emphasis on sustainable growth, collaboration across generations, and knowledge-sharing through mentorship.

With extensive experience in the MICE / Business Events industry, Khun Prachoom brings a clear vision for the future — one that encourages active participation from all members and builds a stronger foundation for emerging professionals. Her presidency will focus on empowering the next generation, encouraging open dialogue between members, and fostering a culture of support through mentorship and mentee engagement.

President Emeritus Appointment: Khun Sumate Sudasna

TICA also proudly announces the appointment of Khun Sumate Sudasna as President Emeritus, a lifetime title created in special recognition of his outstanding service and dedication to the association. Having served an unprecedented eight consecutive terms as President, Khun Sumate has been a guiding force behind the growth and influence of Thailand’s MICE / Business Events industry.

As President Emeritus, Khun Sumate will continue to offer his guidance and may represent the President at key industry meetings or events. His insights and leadership will remain a valuable resource for the association and its members.

This appointment reflects TICA’s deep appreciation for Khun Sumate’s visionary leadership, commitment to collaboration, and his long-standing contribution to strengthening Thailand’s global standing in the MICE / Business Events arena.
