It always amazes me what this single girl does for the growing number of latchkey kids in this poor neighborhood in Ladprao!
This is my friend and colleague, Alicha Khon, from @HavenFoundationCOC who is a super blessing to many of our volunteers as she handles a voluminous amount of legal paperwork for each of us.
Each day, when she returns, there’s a bunch of kids right there ready to be with her —just hanging out at her home, or doing their homework, which she helps them with. She basically plays Mom for these whose parents are not living in Bangkok or are not available for them as they work long hours.
We have annually provided a Christmas party for them but even without our mega- Christmas carnival this year, we still ensured that all 13 kids got a bagful of gifts .
Special thanks to KIS International primary school families for keeping up with their faithful annual contribution of gifts for this and 3 other communities. Thank you so much! KIS International School Bangkok
SAVE on WRAPPING PAPER, ribbons, tape and all that effort!
Get a WRAP-BAG, sewn by hard-pressed refugees and migrants, trying to raise some support for their basic living expenses, rent, medical and food.
Just pop your gift into any of these bags, pull the drawstring and you have a gift bag-cum-knapsack for use now and through the new year!
Give a gift which keeps giving! Support a refugee family. 100 baht for one. Buy more for Less! PM me for more info and orders.
CTM hits the road this Christmas!! PLEASE SHARE THIS with your friends, and network!!

Starting TOMORROW Dec 2 to Dec 5th, "Get your Jingle ON" at Emquartier's Christmas Market where the grounds will be decked up with the sights and sounds of this Yuletide season!
Enjoy the crisp cool weather now with a stroll down the walkway of Quartier Avenue, flanked by rows of shops, and dining options plus facepainting, kiddie crafts! On the weekend, there'll be extra attractions of the adorable adoptable puppies, as well as live performances by the Thai-Expat Bangkok ladies choir, Harmonies, the talented team of Naomi & friends who will fill the air with their Christmas renditions. On Sunday, there will also be a Magic Show by the kids from the Thanksgiving Home!
Located right at the Sukhumvit Road entrance will be Central Thailand Mission's Charity Shop which will have the best bargains in books, bags and clothes for adults and kids, toys, Christmas decor, candle burners, shoes, shawls and an array of other gift items!
Proceeds go towards supporting CTM projects with seven different disadvantaged communities in Bangkok, Mae Sot and Sangklaburi.
We also have nifty drawstring knapsacks in 10 different designs to choose from, sewn by refugees to raise support for their families.
So come on over and shop for a cause, knowing that what you get is going to help others with what they need!

BTW, The Market goes on into the night, where it transforms to one great evening extravaganza with outdoor dining under the stars while entertained by live performances and DJ acts!
Complete with disco lights and all, I understand that there's room for you to kick up your heels and dance the night away as well!
Visited the Taling Chan slum community to see how we can help a little family with their shack which is falling apart with no support for the zinc sheets making up their roof and walls.
It was heartening tho’ to see a neighbor there just trying to school her kids there on the side of the street. No poverty can stop a mother’s concern and drive to teach her children .
Thanks to our volunteers from the Lad Prao slum who drove us here with the cartons of soymilk and help us with the distribution .
Inspiring to see how these ones who themselves live in a small house (82sqm for six people!) reach out to help another in a worse situation than themselves!
Thank you Dairy Plus and the Mirror Foundation for this pre-Christmas/New Year bonus of 500 cartons of soy milk!
This has been distributed to ICARE, Thanksgiving Home Foundation and their nearby Pakred Slum community, the Shade Tree Foundation in Mae Sot, the RefG community, the Taling Chan slum neighborhood, the Lad Prao migrants slum and soon, the Karens at the Thai-Myanmar border learning centres and jungle villages.
We will also have some for the upcoming Christmas activities with other disadvantaged communities.
A Thought for Thanksgiving — Gratitude is a magnet for Blessings!
Just seeing the joy, thankfulness of these folks whom we have helped in the previous months brings us back again to their slum community to give them more this time around.
The first in Sangkom Songkroh 20 is a community of 26 Thai and Myanmar families who struggle with their menial incomes from hawking some foods in carts on the street, and some in construction work.
The second is a construction labor camp of about 30 people who work long 10 hour days in construction — hence we can only deliver the provisions to them at night. The third is the Thanksgiving Home which shares and distributes to the Pakred slum near their center.
Thanks to our volunteers, drivers and gebetous givers who have made this all possible!
Received with much thanksgiving ! The provision of MILK along with bananas for the MERCY centre, Klong Toey
For those of you in Bangkok - PLEASE share this with your family, and your network of friends, colleagues and all! It's CTM's fundraiser for the upcoming Christmas and New Year projects!
KICKSTART the Festive season NEXT SUNDAY at Athenee Hotel's annual Gingerbread House Party!! Note that date! November 28th, the last SUNDAY of the month! The fun begins at 3pm!
Food, Fun craft activities with Christmas carols in the air, sung by the newly-formed Bangkok Thai-Expat ladies choir, HARMONIES!
From Making their own Gingerbread house, decorating Mugs to a Magic show -- the kids are going to be happily engaged!
Special Appearance by Bangkok's best loved (& most authentic!) SANTA (Bill) who'll be giving out some goodies for all, no matter naughty or nice!
Proceeds from this event will go to support disadvantaged community projects run by Central Thailand Mission and partners!
You can't do better than that! Have Fun while Helping a cause! See you there!
* Limited seats due to social distancing rules - so book your tickets now!!

The amazing connections!
On the one side — we have migrant folks at the Sangklaburi Learning Centre needing computers for their resident youth education program ; Refugee kids using phones for the online classes we initiated for them . On the other side, we have the AXA insurance company was relocating and upgrading their equipment!
CTM has the wonderful privilege of bridging the gap and connecting the resources to the needs.
So far, we have been able to help three communities — the Gateway Builders in Sangklaburi , the RefG. Community snd the Thanksgiving Home .
More on the way!!
Thank you AXA Thailand and Khun Wanida for your help in organising this!!
“When we can’t go to the mountain, the mountain comes to us!” — adapted Asian adage .
It’s always a challenge to send supplies way up to the remote hillside Thai-Myanmar border town of Sangklaburi .
So we were really glad when Rolyn from Gateway Builders had to come to Bangkok for some legal work.
We loaded her friend’s car with as much as they coukd take, considering the weighted load they’d have to drive up the hill!
They managed 20 boxes of Foremost Thailand — that’s 720 packets of milk going to the kids in the village and jungle communities on the border! They also managed to take some boxes of medical supplies.
The Mercy Centre from Klong Toey also came by and loaded up 42 boxes of the milk abd medical kits for the 100+ kids in their center.
Special thanks also to @MirrorFoundation for helping to facilitate these supplies.
WEEKDAY JOY!
There's always lots to do, but sometimes, we just have to stretch time, get out of the office, find a driver and make that trip out to distribute supplies to disadvantaged communities.

Tuesday afternoon saw us at the Nawamin slum community giving out 612 boxes of Foremost Thailand milk to the kids here.

We gave them just a few hours notice but there, they all were, nicely queuing up for the milk, the quality zinc oxide masks from PERMA (can be washed 150 times!) and bottles of olive oil.

Thank you sponsors for sharing the love in this way, and impact these lives with your generosity!
BLESSED to BLESS!

The House of Blessing does a tremendous job caring for the children of prisoners, or those born to inmates in prison and those who need a second chance and can't seem to make it when they get out..... They have about 30 children in their care at the moment.

Thanks to Foremost Thailand, we had milk to share with them as well as well as some medical kit boxes from มูลนิธิกระจกเงา (The Mirror Foundation).

A little respite for Jungle dwellers .
Our sacks of 50 tarps arrived in Sangklaburi and have made it to the forest-dwellers. -- Just 50 of them. There are many more who need the tarps and shelter.
Each tarp costs about 115-120 baht depending on what we can find on promotion.
ALOT MORE tarps needed....so if you want and can help, please drop us a message!

GIVING BEYOND BANGKOK !
It's always amazing when it works so synchronically well when we are able to share our blessings to others outside of Bangkok as well.
As it turned out, when we called the HAND TO HAND FOUNDATION in PATTAYA, they happened to have someone to pick up at the Suvarnabhumi Airport!
So Julia rolled into our center this morning and we were able to pakc the truck with 50 cartons of Foremost Thailand milk, PERMA's quality zinc oxide masks and medical aid kits from มูลนิธิกระจกเงา (The Mirror Foundation) .

They will be distributing these to the children who they help at their center https://www.handtohandpattaya.com/ and the communities they serve.

Passing the Baton of blessings!

Thanks to Khun Wanida & the IT dept of @AXA Partners Thailand, we received the full set up of 8 desktop Dell computers.
This will be recieved by the ReFG children who are doing the online classes we initiated a few months ago.

Just an hour after the computers were delivered, we had the *Thanksgiving Home* come. They received 50 cartons of Foremost Thailand milk and loaded up the computers which they will then deliver to the *Mirror Foundation*

This evening, the Mirror truck will deliver 100 cartons of milk and computers to over 133 kids in the outskirts of Bangkok.

This took some fine-tuned organisation and coordination but WE DID IT!! 😄🤝

Partnering with the Police to Provide for the Poor!

From our previous contact with the police (see earlier post on our help with construction workers at the Suan Plu labor camp), we were introduced to the police officers in a couple of other Bangkok districts! They in turn have connected and arranged for us to help the slum communities in their areas.

We went to the first one, which was the Samakee Pattana slum community in Ramkhamheng. There are about 380 households in this stretch of mainly thatched shacks, with the biggest being possibly 30 sqm. These small homes generally accommodate four persons but in many multi-generational households, this could be up to 7 or 8 in one unit.

We brought zinc-oxide masks from PERMA and Foremost Thailand's contribution of quality milk , which we distributed to 100 kids . We were able to meet just a fraction of them, with the rest being cloistered at home.
Each child received 16 packets of milk which will last till we meet them again -- soon! Thank you Foremost Thailand and The Mirror Foundation for facilitating this.
