AW08 UNDERCOVER “FREE BURMA” TEE

The photograph on the front was taken by Racoles in Yangon (Myanmar) during 2007 “Saffron Revolution” aka “Shwe Wah Yaung Tawhlanyay” featuring a mass of Buddhist monks in maroon robes , standing a silent protest in front of Shwedagon Pagoda.

Many political protests and demonstrations took place during August, September, and October 2007 in Myanmar(Burma). People from Burma protested for their Human rights , Democracy , Free elections , Release of the political prisoners and to End the military’s involvement in politics which still haven’t succeeded till today. The protests were triggered by the decision of the National Military Government(Junta) to remove subsidies on the sales prices of fuel. The national government was the only supplier of fuels and patrols at that time and making them easy to increase the prices by 60% - 100%.
The various protests were led by students, political activists, including women, and Buddhist monks. In response to the protests, dozens of protesters including Buddhist monks were killed , arrested or detained. Thousands of monks were arrested and many were Detained without any trials , Tortured during interrogations , Stripped of their robes and humiliated. Many monks simply disappeared some are presumed executed or still in prison. The Military Armed Forces raided many Buddhist monasteries at night and many were sealed off and turned into military posts.

The courage of the monks during the “Saffron Revolution” aka “Shwe Wah Yaung Tawhlanyay” remains a symbol of peaceful resistance and is still honored in artworks, fashion, documentaries, and human rights campaigns.

Iconic Vintage Liverpool FC “Candy” Sweatshirt

A throwback to one of the most iconic eras in the club history. To all the Reds a sponsor name “Candy” instantly transports fans back to the late 1980s and early 1990s. Candy , an Italian domestic appliance brand, was Liverpool’s shirt sponsor from 1988 to 1992 (4 seasons), a time when legends like John Barnes , Ian Rush , Peter Beardsley ruled the pitch and won the 18th league title for the Reds.

On the front, the Liverpool club crest is positioned over the heart and “Candy” logo across the midsection. The screen print and the design are slightly distressed and a bit cracked which gives the look of an authentic vintage appeal.

On the back, it features a striking tonal imprint of the Liverpool FC crest with the text “OFFICIALLY LICENSED MERCHANDISE” and the logo of Kick Sportswear which is a lesser known brand that produced a lot of Liverpool gear under licensed during the time.

A sweatshirt more than just a clothing which has been possibly around over three decades and it’s a wearable piece of Liverpool’s football heritage.

SS19 Cav Empt COMMODIFICATION Shirt.

Cav Empt (C.E) is Japanese brand founded by Toby Feltwell & Sk8thing in 2011. Toby and SK8THING played an important role with A BATHING APE (BAPE) and BILLIONAIRE BOYS CLUB (BBC) during the late 90s to mid 20s which was the golden era of BAPE and BBC. After leaving BAPE Toby and SK8THING founded Cav Empt (C.E) where they had full creative control and went for more dystopian and anti-hype aesthetic which was kinda opposite of BAPE. The brand based in Tokyo and the red circle C.E logo patch on the arm is a signature detail of the brand. Nowadays Cav Empt is worn and respected among the fans of archival fashion , underground music, streetwear collectors and they rarely restocked their older pieces making it pretty hard to find and collectible.

A Rare Find : 60’s Champion Knitwear Sweatshirt - Cleveland State University Established 1964

Ultra-rare Champion Knitwear co. inc. A piece from the 1960s, featuring Cleveland State University print. This was made during the early era of Champion’s rise in American sportswear before it has became the icon it is today.

Faded pink tone, probably red originally. Natural aging, single-stitch details, and a running man tag that all the collectors love. CSU was founded in 1964 , making this piece likely from the school’s earliest years and this might’ve belonged to one of the school’s first students or athletes.
