**Thailand fully reopens from 1 October 2022**

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is pleased to advise that as of today international travellers to Thailand will no longer be required to show proof of vaccination or ATK test results, and a longer length of stay will be on offer, signalling the completion of the kingdom’s full reopening to international tourism.

*Effective from today through until 31 March, 2023*, the period of stay in Thailand will be extended to 45 days (from 30 days) for tourists from countries/territories entitled for visa exemption, and to 30 days (from 15 days) for those eligible for a Visa on Arrival (VOA).

Thailand grants visa extension for tourists to stimulate upcoming high season - TAT Newsroom

Thailand’s Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) approved the proposal by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) to extend the period of stay for tourist visa holders from 30 days to 45 days for Visa Exempted country passport holders and from 15 days to 30 days for VOA country passport holders and some specified country passport holders with a bilateral agreement from 1 October, 2022, until 31 March, 2023.

: ***Good news! Thailand prepares to cancel the COE system for entering the country. To reduce the procedure for entering the country, starting Nov 1, 64
*After announcing the opening of the country to tourists without quarantine for Thailand starting November 1, 2021, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has collaborated with the Digital Government Development Agency to develop the "Thailand Pass" system, prepared to replace the COE system.
*Travelers can also fill out TM.8 (Health Questionnaire) and TM.6 (Immigration Forms) forms through the Thailand system.
*The Thailand Pass system will be available and replace the COE system approximately on November 1, 2021. However, the COE will continue to be used for certain segments of tourists, such as patients requiring hospital stay in alternative quarantine hospitals. (AHQ), which requires advance approval to prepare for cross border travel and travelers traveling in groups or by yachts and cruise ships.

***Thirty eight (38) countries in the frame for non-quarantine access to Thailand, Thai media***

*Thai media Daily News reported that the CCSA were considering grouping countries according to economic value and vaccine coverage as a means to deciding which ones' nationals will be allowed to come to Thailand without having to quarantine from November 1st.

Thirty eight (38) countries are being considered. Of these:

1. 24 are in the European Union

2. Five are the Nordic countries of Finland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Iceland.

3. Others are Israel, Switzerland, UAE, the UK, the US, India, China, Qatar, Japan, and South Korea.

*Earlier the Thai PM had stated that ten countries of low risk would be allowed quarantine free access from November 1st though only the UK, US, Singapore, Germany and China were mentioned by name.
