The Thai JDM scene is probably going to surpass the Japanese JDM scene before long

Today we have a duo of massive turbo drag cars. The R32 was the fastest street legal GTR in the world in 2006 and has recently been rebuilt, with a billet block and expected to run over 2,000bhp.

A car meet this morning that was apparently a ticketed event had is lovely 996 Turbo with questionable wheels and JDM cars are starting to become more of a thing (with both a Impreza and a NSX joining)

Whilst they do love modified Porsches in Thailand, they also like the special editions - and the best special editions at that; the 993 GT3, 911 R, the ultimate 911 in the 997.2 RS 4.0, a 918 and more. Keep in mind that these cars were imported with 320% tax when new (so a CGT has been £1.2m since day 1)

The Porsche scene in Thailand is strong and they aren’t afraid to properly modify them, unlike in the UK where keeping things standard is norm and getting boring. Living in London you see every Porsche and supercar available, people get excited when they see a ‘1 of 1000’ car, whilst a modified supercar is like an individuals vision of their 1 of 1 car - which could be amazing, terrible, or anywhere in between. #911

The Japanese are happy to cut up a $2mil F40, add wide arches, and hand paint it’. Solid 10/10 on coolness; especially because this will upset Ferrari a lot.
