🌟 Discover Château de Saint Cosme – a historic gem located in the heart of the Gigondas appellation.
Did you know? 🤔
🏰 This unique estate, acquired by the Barruol family in 1490, has stood the test of time with its Gallo-Roman winery and fermentation tanks hewn directly into the rock. Fifteen generations of passionate wine growers have nurtured this land!
🍇 With 25 hectares of old vines, averaging 60 years in age, the estate produces limited yields that truly reflect the character of the terroir. The soils here are a geological mosaic, shaped by the Dentelles de Montmirail and located at the intersection of two geological faults, creating a cool microclimate that leads to late ripening of the grapes.
🌱 Balance, freshness, and finesse define their wines, including the stunning 2019 vintage of “Le Claux” Gigondas, featuring Grenache grapes from vines that are 144 years old!
🐦 Their commitment to organic farming is evident in the vibrant birdlife that thrives in the vineyards. These birds are not just beautiful—they symbolize the estate’s harmony with nature, making their appearance on the labels of Crozes-Hermitage and Côte-Rôtie wines all the more special.
✨ And take a closer look at the Micro Cosme label! Its design is inspired by the Golden Ratio, a timeless principle that adds an artistic touch to every bottle.
🍾 How Sparkling Wine is Made: Traditional Method 🍾
Ever wondered how your favorite bottle of bubbly gets all those fine bubbles? 🥂 Let’s break it down! Here’s the Traditional Method, used in Champagne.
But did you know there are other methods to make sparkling wine around the world? 🌍
🍇 Tank Method (Charmat): Popular in Italy, for making Prosecco, this method uses large tanks for the second fermentation, resulting in light, fresh bubbles. 🇮🇹
🍇 Transfer Method: Often used in Australia, the wine undergoes secondary fermentation in bottles, but is transferred to a tank before being re-bottled. 🇦🇺
🍇 Ancestral Method: Known as Pét-Nat, this ancient technique (used in France) involves bottling wine before fermentation is complete, creating rustic, cloudy bubbles. 🇫🇷
🍇 Continuous Method: Common in Russia and Germany, this method has the wine continuously fermented as it passes through multiple tanks, yielding large-scale sparkling production. 🇷🇺🇩🇪
🍇 Carbonation: Similar to soda, CO2 is directly injected into still wine, making budget-friendly sparkling wines, especially in countries like the USA. 🇺🇸
Want to dive deeper into the world of Champagne? Let's explore the depth of The Crayères, the 2000-year-old Gallo-Roman cellars from one of the remarkable history Champagne House Charles Heidsieck Champagne
✨ Think Champagne is the only sparkling wine?
Sparkling wines aren’t just bubbles—they’re stories of unique regions and grape varieties. While Champagne from France reigns as the most famous, every region brings its own sparkle to the table. 🌍 Did you know that Italy’s Prosecco is made from the Glera grape, Spain’s Cava uses Macabeo and Parellada, and South Africa’s Cap Classique is rising as a new star in the sparkling world? 🍇
But why is Champagne so iconic? 🏆 It’s all in the details! Not only is Champagne made from a special trio of grapes—Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Pinot Meunier—but it also takes time. After two fermentations, it must age on the lees for at least 15 months, giving it that rich, toasty flavor. 🥂 Some vintage Champagnes even age for 10 years or more! Plus, Champagne holds a prestigious certification, meaning only sparkling wines from the Champagne region of France can legally bear the name “Champagne.” Here’s a fun fact: the bubbles in Champagne are smaller and finer because of its unique production method, which results in around 49 million bubbles in a single bottle! 😮
🌍🍇 Celebrating International Grenache Day – September 20!
Today, we raise a glass to Grenache, one of the world’s most celebrated and versatile grape varieties. Known for its rich history and ability to adapt to diverse climates, Grenache shines in regions like Spain’s Priorat, France’s Rhône Valley, and Australia’s McLaren Vale, each bringing out unique expressions of this extraordinary grape.
In France’s Southern Rhône, Grenache takes center stage in the renowned Châteauneuf-du-Pape, delivering luscious red fruit flavors, balanced by earth and spice. Over in Spain, where it’s called Garnacha, this grape thrives under the Mediterranean sun, creating powerful, full-bodied wines with a distinct minerality. Australian Grenache, on the other hand, bursts with bright berry flavors and a smooth, silky texture.
Grenache’s adaptability, from elegant rosés to complex reds, showcases the harmony between terroir and craftsmanship. As we celebrate , let’s toast to this incredible grape and the winemakers who continue to push its boundaries!

🍷✨ Gianni Brunelli: A Legacy of Craftsmanship and Heart
The journey of Gianni Brunelli and his wife, Laura, is one of tradition, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to quality. It all began in 1987 when Gianni returned to Montalcino and bought back his family's land, "Le Chiuse di Sotto," originally cultivated by his father in 1947. The vineyards, with their Sangiovese vines, produce some of the finest Brunello di Montalcino, while the olive groves offer exceptional extra virgin olive oil.
But the story doesn't end there. In the mid-90s, Gianni and Laura expanded their legacy by purchasing Podernovone, home to 4.5 hectares of Sangiovese and Merlot, adding to their prestigious collection of wines. Gianni and Laura's careful balance of traditional methods and modern sustainability practices has transformed their wines into a reflection of the land they cherish.
With a state-of-the-art cellar designed to minimize environmental impact, and a deep respect for natural processes, every bottle of Gianni Brunelli wine tells a story of meticulous craftsmanship, heartfelt dedication, and the soulful connection between the vines and the winemaker.

From Tokyo to Burgundy, a Dream Realized 🌍🍇
Did you know that the journey of Maison Lou Dumont began with a Japanese sommelier who fell in love with Burgundy? Koji Nakada left Tokyo with a dream and little knowledge of French, but his passion for wine led him to Beaune, where he mastered the art of winemaking at the prestigious CFPPA. It was there he met the love of his life, Jae Hwa Park, a Korean expatriate who shared his vision. Together, they founded Maison Lou Dumont in Gevrey-Chambertin in 2000. 🍷💕
Koji's philosophy is simple: produce pure, honest Burgundy wines with minimal manipulation. His approach is rooted in respect for nature, using organically farmed grapes, natural yeasts, and the finest oak from the Jupilles forest—known for its delicate influence, the same wood used at Chateau d’Yquem. 🌳✨
In 2012, Koji and Jae Hwa accomplished the nearly impossible for non-native Burgundians—they purchased their first parcels of land in Burgundy, including a rare Bourgogne Aligoté plot with vines over 100 years old! Today, their wines, marked with three Japanese characters symbolizing sky, earth, and man, are sought after by top restaurants worldwide. 🌎🌟
Maison Lou Dumont isn't just a winery; it's a legacy built on dreams, love, and an unyielding dedication to excellence. Raise a glass to wines that tell a story of passion, perseverance, and the perfect balance of tradition and innovation. 🍇🥂
Experience the Tokyo dream at Gaysorn Les Vendanges 2024, where you can savor the exceptional wines of Maison Lou Dumont and taste the story of passion and craftsmanship. 🍇🥂

🌟✨ Elderton Wines — a legacy of extraordinary craftsmanship and unrivaled acclaim. 🍷🏆
The journey began in 1894, when German settlers planted the first vines along the North Para River. In 1916, Samuel Elderton Tolley acquired the vineyard, which soon became known as Elderton. Despite its early success, the estate fell into disrepair around 1975. But in 1980, Lorraine and Neil Ashmead took on the monumental challenge of restoring the derelict vineyard and its 72 acres of historic vines, reviving Elderton’s storied heritage. 🌍🍇
Since winning the Jimmy Watson Trophy in 1993, Elderton has set the gold standard in the wine world. Their Shiraz was hailed as the World’s Best in 2000, solidifying their reputation for excellence. The accolades continued with recognition as one of the Top 100 Wineries in 2005 and the coveted Wine of the Year title from Decanter in 2008. 🌟🍷
Elderton’s influence has only grown, earning them a spot in the Hall of Fame for Australian brands in 2013, followed by the Longton’s Excellent Classification and a place among the Top 100 Australian Wines. Their Barossa Wine of the Year award in 2018 and accolades for Wine Tourism Service in 2019 and 2022 underscore their commitment to excellence and innovation. 🏅🍷
With Halliday Wine Companion honors from 2013 to the present, Elderton Wines continues to embody a legacy of excellence, crafting wines that are not only celebrated but cherished across the globe. 🌟❤️
