Hello from happy us!
DSI School of Sign Language

June 5th is World Environment Day!
We are dedicating this day to planting more fruit trees in our schools.
You can help us reach more schools by joining our students in planting or donating a fruit seedling.

Sponsored by Miakwadang, the hearing impaired women and girls are in their 3rd month training in sewing skills to support them to take up sewing as a future livelihood option.

Tree planting is an incredible way for youngsters to connect with nature while helping the planet. It links to many areas of the curriculum and it’s a fun, hands-on project for students.
Planting trees holds immense importance in our society, especially when it is incorporated into educational institutions such as schools and colleges. Recognizing the crucial role that tree plantation plays, our students have begun to embrace this practice to enhance school environments by planting several tree species.
Through the schools friends club, we are set to litter every school with trees...

Sports promotes universal values and is not limited to language or cultures.
Thanks to the head of our Alasas department for the efforts that led to the success of the "youth for sports tournament" earlier in March at the UMC Slaam stadium.

Realizing the rights of deaf people starts with ensuring that deaf children have access to education in sign language. Deaf children have a right to a quality education, like all other children, in a language and environment that maximizes their potential.
This year's sign language classes at DSI school of sign language will start on Monday 22 May 2023.
50 students (both deaf and hearing) are set to benefit from this 6months course in sign language interpretation and deaf culture.
