For the past decade now, our major tool of advocacy had been engaging the media specifically local radio stations to boost awareness raising on concerns of women in the Western Equatoria Region.
However, we have innovatively worked out new approaches of strengthening and intensifying our advocacy plans with support from the Embassy of Canada Juba, by installing "Women Voice Radio Program" on local radio stations. This has enabled us to engage inspirational female & male leaders to from month to month to discuss concerns facing women & girls in the community. The talk show sessions also provide a platform to constructively engage community members on national issues such as leadership, peace and security.

With the guidance of prominent leaders, women were able to come up with concepts that will enable grassroots women participation in leadership in two folds; 1. Women collectively agreed to form a loose coalition that would comprise of rural women groups, legislators, community leaders(head women), civil society women led organizations, and private sector (women running small-scale businesses) who will lead results based advocacy on issues affecting women and girls.
2. Engage in radio talk shows to increase advocacy and awareness on the issues of 35% affirmative action.
