Torit Municipal Council has issued a provisional order restricting Importation and supply of basic commodities such as Sugar, wheat flour and Cooking Oil to only two Companies of Warsam Holdings Co. Ltd and Faluja Hardware and Wholesalers Co.Ltd.
The order dated 22/5/2026 stated that the restriction aimed at ensuring supply of standardised , quality and healthy commodities, ensure stable & minimum prices, protection of domestic cooperatives from foreign competitors as well as generating goverment revenue to achieve State's objective goal and vision of fiscal year 2025/6 amongst other objectives.
The order further directed other wholesalers apart from the two companies to immediately discontinue the supply of Sugar, Wheat flour and Cooking oil and redirect any consignment destined to Torit Municipality to other locations or return them back to the source.

Mosquito net distributors on a two day training ahead of the official launch of the distribution program on Wednesday in Torit.
Torit County Commissioner Hon. Lokang charles Italian warns that beneficiaries who will be found selling or using the treated Mosquito nets for other purposes will face a fine of 100,000 South Sudan Pounds.
