Dear Aweilians,
It is totally a great shame for a well respected artist, Aluel Manyiel Rou to be victimized for no reason. The trending news which has been flowing for the last two days as to why Aluel was given 38 cows instead of donating them to the poor is utterly inappropriate. If I may ask the following questions;
1. Was Aluel the one inviting herself to come to Aweil? That is a big NO.
2) Was she the one requesting to be given cows? It is a big NO.
3) Did she demand to have a plot in Aweil? That's also a big NO. As a matter of fact, Aluel in her entire life has never dreamt that Aweil will one day do her such an honor.
If so, why do miith Mading Aweil discuss gifts she has taken when Aweilians themselves are the ones inviting her to come to their home, decided to give her also cows and plots of land? I thought that all this was done just to show how the community was grateful towards her for such a wonderful song she dedicated to Aweil community. As many people have been saying here that those 38 cows would have been given to the orphanage. Why do we need cows given to Aluel to be given to orphanages when there are so many cows still roaming about in Aweil? If Aweil needs to support orphanage, they can still do it with enormous resources that they have not the mere 38 cows donated to this young lady. I am disappointed by this move. We better not destroy the respect and kindness accorded to our sister Aluel Manyiel. At this rate, I ask our State government to persuade Aluel to take her rightful gifts. And I am also requesting Aluel to reconsider her decision of rejecting the cows. She deserves these gifts 100% and none should be taken back. I beg to rest this case like that just as a concern son of Aweil.
Thanks.

Gok-Machar: Two Accidents Claim Lives of Three Boys
Gok-Machar, Aweil North County – A devastating tragedy occurred last night in Gok-Machar, leaving the community in deep shock and mourning. Two separate accidents claimed the lives of three young boys and left another person seriously injured.
According to reports, the three boys—who were cousin-brothers—were struck by a speeding truck at around 8:30 PM while crossing the road as they were returning home from visiting their aunt. Sadly, all three lost their lives at the scene.
The driver and his assistant fled immediately after the accident. However, the assistant later surrendered himself to authorities and is currently under investigation at Gok-Machar Police Station.
In a separate incident near the junction, another person was seriously injured and was rushed to Aweil for urgent medical treatment.
The entire community is mourning this heartbreaking loss. Our deepest condolences go to the families, relatives, and friends of the deceased during this very difficult time.
We pray for the quick recovery of the injured person and strength for the grieving families.
The names of the deceased will be shared once they are officially confirmed. 🕊️💔

Speech: Building Leaders for a Bright Future
Distinguished guests, respected leaders, fellow youths, ladies, and gentlemen,
Today, I stand before you with a message that is not only timely but urgent: the future will not be brighter by chance; it will be brighter by leadership.
A bright future is built by people who are prepared, principled, and purposeful. If we desire a better nation, a stronger church, and a transformed society, then we must intentionally build leaders today.
Leadership is not about position or title. Leadership is about influence, responsibility, and service. A true leader sees beyond self and commits to shaping others for the good of all. As the Bible says, “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old,he will not depart from it” (Proverbs 22:6).
1. Building Leaders Starts with Character
The foundation of leadership is character. Skills can be taught, knowledge can be acquired, but character is built through values. A bright future requires leaders who are honest, disciplined, humble, and God-fearing. Without character, leadership becomes dangerous.
2. Building Leaders Requires Vision
Leaders are vision carriers. They see possibilities where others see problems. The Bible declares, “Where there is no vision, the people perish” (Proverbs 29:18). We must teach our youths to dream, to think beyond limitations, and to believe that they are called to make a difference.
3. Building Leaders Demands Mentorship
No leader rises alone. Every great leader is a product of guidance and mentorship. Moses mentored Joshua. Elijah mentored Elisha. Jesus mentored His disciples. If we want a bright future, we must invest time, wisdom, and love into the next generation.
4. Building Leaders Means Empowering Youths
Youths are not leaders of tomorrow only—they are leaders today. When we empower them with education, skills, and spiritual guidance, we equip them to stand strong in a changing world. As Scripture says, “Let no one despise your youth,

End!
After becoming President, I asked my security team to go have lunch at a restaurant. We sat down, and everyone ordered what they wanted.
At the table in front of us, there was a man waiting to be served. After he was served,I told one of my guards, go and ask that gentleman to join us..The soldier went to deliver my invitation. The man stood up took his plate and sat down right next to me.
While he ate,his hands trembled constantly, and he didn't lift his head from his meal. When we finished,he greeted me without looking up. I shook his hand, and he left .
The soldier said to me:
Madiba, that man must have been very ill because his hands wouldn't stop shaking while he was eating..
Absolutely not I replied. The reason for his trembling is something else.
Then I explained:
That man was the director of the prison where I was held.. After torturing me,I screamed and cried, asking for water.. he came to humiliate me - he mocked me, and instead of giving me water, he urinated on my head.
He wasn't sick.he was afraid that I was now President of South Africa, so he would send him to prison and do to him what he did to me. But I am not like that - such behaviors is not part of my character or my ethics.
Spirit that seem revenge destroy nation while those who seek reconciliation build them. As I left homes, I knew that if I did not leave behind all my anger, hatre, and resentment,I would remain a prisoner forever..
