Singer Deng Mtoto Warns Artists Against Copying His Songs
South Sudanese singer Deng Mtoto has warned fellow musicians against copying his songs, voice, and singing style.
Speaking during a live video on the night of February 24, 2026, when he released a wedding song for Door Peter in the studio, Deng Mtoto expressed frustration over artists who imitate his work.
“There are some singers who copy my songs,” he said. “Let me warn you again. If anyone copies my favorite words, ‘Be la kankan,’ remember that one trouser cannot fit all of us.”
He continued, “If you copy my songs again, you will see what will happen. Some people take my words, change them slightly, and then put them in their own songs. That is not right.”
The singer made it clear that he wants other artists to be creative and produce original content instead of imitating his music and style.
