On Friday 22nd April, 2022, South Sudan Center for Strategic and Policy Studies (CSPS) in collaboration with International Development Research Centre (IDRC), conducted a dialogue session on Climate-Smart Agriculture and Food Security Systems under the IDRC-CSPS project Understanding the Research Ecosystem in South Sudan Through a Thematic Dialogue Series.
The dialogue session was led by Dr. Flora Eyoha Lado moderated by Dr. John Ogoto Kanisio, Mr. Simon Pech Biliw was the Rapporteur of the session, and Mr. Peter Manyang Bichiok, the IT Officer.
The dialogue session was attended by representatives from academia, policy makers, research institutions, diplomatic community, civil society organizations, Canadian Embassy, CSPS researchers, consultants and specialists in the field physically and online through zoom.
This is the fourth dialogue session in the series of six (6) thematic areas covered by the project. The first dialogue session was conducted on Monday, 18th October, 2021 on Governance, Stabilization and Peacebuilding Research Ecosystem in South Sudan, and the second dialogue session was conducted on Friday, 5th November 2021 on Women Voices and Leadership Research Ecosystem in South Sudan and the third session was convened on Friday, 19th November, 2021 on Health Equity. All the sessions were conducted at Pyramid Continental Hotel in Juba.
On 8th February 2022, H.E Nebil Mahdi Abdullahi, Ambassador of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to South Sudan, paid a courtesy call to CSPS House. During his visit, Ambassador Abdullahi met with CSPS management led by Dr. Melha Rout Biel, the Acting Executive Director. They explored possibilities of cooperation between CSPS with the Embassy of Ethiopia in Juba as well as think tanks in Ethiopia.

On Friday, 19th November, 2021, South Sudan Center for Strategic and Policy Studies (CSPS) in collaboration with International Development Research Centre (IDRC), conducted at Pyramid Continental Hotel, a dialogue session on Health Equity Research Ecosystem in South Sudan under the IDRC-CSPS project Understanding the Research Ecosystem in South Sudan Through a Thematic Dialogue Series.
The dialogue session was led by Dr. Augustino Ting Mayai, moderated by Mr. Michael Lopuke Latyam, Mr. Simon Pech Biliw, the Rapporteur of the session, and Mr. Peter Manyang Bichiok, the IT Officer.
The dialogue session was attended by representatives from academia, policy makers, research institutions, diplomatic community, civil society organizations, Canadian Embassy, Chief of party of USAID, CSPS researchers and consultants, IDRC researchers, and specialists in the field.

On Thursday 14 October 2021, CSPS in collaboration with United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs organized a validation workshop on reviewed and Updated Parliamentary Service Master Curriculum. The workshop was attended by the Under Secretary of Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs Hon. James Francis Kutiyote, Hon. Julia Aker Duany the Under Secretary of the Ministry of Public Service and Human Resource Development, Mr. Allan Poston, UNDP's GEMS Project Manager, UNDP senior staff, senior government officials, and stakeholders from other public and private agencies.
On Tuesday 14th September 2021, Mr. Dionyz Hochel, Head of Section, Political, Press & Information, Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of South Sudan paid a courtesy call to CSPS House. While at CSPS House Mr. Hochel met with CSPS team led by Dr. Melha Rout Biel, the Executive Director. They explored possibilities of cooperation between CSPS and the European Delegation.

On Thursday 29th July 2021, Mr. Georg Stein, Senior Peace and Political Affairs Advisor, Swiss Cooperation Office and Consular Agency in South Sudan paid a courtesy call to CSPS House. He had discussions with Dr. Melha Biel the Executive Director and colleagues at the Center. Mr. Stein shared ideas with CSPS on possible areas of cooperation in research and knowledge exchange.
On Monday 19 July 2021 Ambassador Manuel Müller of Federal Republic of Germany to South Sudan visited CSPS House. He had discussions with Dr. Melha Biel the Executive Director of the Center. Ambassador Müller will be leaving Juba soon and his visit was part of his plan to bid farwell to friends and partners of German mission in the country.
On Thursday 18 June 2021 the South Sudan Center for Strategic and Policy Studies (CSPS) conducted a training for six research assistants who are part of International development Research Centre (IDRC) research project which CSPS is implementing. The training was prepared and conducted by Prof. Augustino Ting Mayai, one of the six experts implementing the research project. The IDRC project is on "Understanding the Research Ecosystem in South Sudan through a Thematic Dialogue Series", covering six thematic areas, which include: Governance, stabilization and Peacebuilding; Women's voice and leadership; Health Equity; Displacement of people; Climate-smart agriculture and food systems and Lifelong learning and research. The training was conducted at CSPS House.
On Wednesday 9 June 2021 the South Sudan Center for Strategic and Policy Studies (CSPS) in collaboration with United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Ministry of Public Service and Human Resource Development organized a validation workshop on the Reviewed Public Service Master Curricullum for civil servants in South Sudan. The workshop was attended by Hon. Dr. Julia Aker Duany the Under Secretary of the Ministery of Public Sevice, senior UNDP officials, stakeholders from other institutions and CSPS staff.
On Monday 7 June 2021 the South Sudan Center for Strategic and Policy Studies (CSPS) in collaboration with United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Local Government Board and Ministry of Public Services and Human Resource Development organized a validation workshop on Assessment of the Capacity of Local government systems for delivery of Services in South Sudan. The workshop was attended by the Minister of Public Services Hon. Joseph Bagasi Bakosoro, Hon. Julia Aker Duany the Under Secretary of the Ministry, the UNDP Resident Representative Dr. Samuel Doe, his Deputy, other senior UNDP officials, Mr. Dustan Khamis, Chairman of South Sudan Local Government Board and stakeholders from other public and private agencies.
The Head of German Misereor DPS South Sudan, Mr. Uwe Bergmeier, paid a coursey visit today to CSPS House and met with the Executive Director, Dr. Melha Biel and explored areas of cooperation in terms of partnership services between the two organizations.
