Maura Ajak is a South Sudanese investigative journalist, climate advocate, and human rights defender who has become one of the country's leading voices on environmental and social issues. Through her reporting, she has exposed the impacts of climate change, flooding, environmental pollution, and oil contamination on vulnerable communities in South Sudan.
Her major accomplishments include investigating human rights abuses, raising awareness about environmental challenges affecting South Sudan, winning the African Women in Media Pitch Zone Award, and being recognized as an Earth Champion for East Africa by the IGAD Climate Prediction and Applications Centre (ICPAC). Through journalism and advocacy, Maura Ajak continues to inspire action for environmental protection, accountability, and sustainable development.
