God Revealed Through The Son || God Spoke to Fathers || Noah

Hebrews 1:1-3 KJVS
God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, [2] Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; [3] Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

- Noah found favour from God in a wicked generation. He was righteous and blameless in God’s eyes. When God spoke to him of the judgment of the world, in holy fear (reverence) he obeyed and built an ark as per God’s instructions. Genesis 6:5-22

- Genesis 6: 5 And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. 6 And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. 7 And the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them. 8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. 9 These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.

- God established a covenant with Noah and his sons and their children. It was the only way God would restore order to an earth that was full of wickedness and corruption. Both man and the earth were punished. But God preserved Noah and the animals (male and female)

- Genesis 6:17 And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die. 18 But with thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons' wives with thee.

- Noah is described as a preacher of righteousness. He was distressed by the ways wicked people around him were living. He thus preached to them. But people ignored him, and kept on enjoying themselves, marrying and giving their daughters to marriage. Remember what he was speaking did not make sense, since it had never rained before.

- 1 Peter 2:4 For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; 5 And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;

- Noah built according to pattern. IN reverence and obedience, and they entered the ark, and God shut them in. And it rained for 40 days, and the whole earth as flooded and every living creature was destroyed. Suddenly judgement came upon the disobedient. But God remembered Noah. When Noah came out of the ark, he raised an altar to the Lord in worship, and God smelt the aroma of his sacrifice, and God blessed Noah and set forth a sign.

- Genesis 8: 20 And Noah builded an altar unto the Lord; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar. 21 And the Lord smelled a sweet savour; and the Lord said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done. 22 While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.

- Genesis 9: 14 And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud: 15 And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh. 16 And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth.
