Women for Development Organization: Toward Reducing Bride Prize Campaign Guests:

The Women For Development Organisation (WFDO) team was pleased to participate in a radio talk show on Radio Miraya this morning to discuss about the negative impact of brideprice on women and how it contributes to GBV.

This is part of the (WFDO) C to Z campaign activities to mark the commemoration of the International Women's Day 2024 next month.

The Women For Development Organisation - (WFDO) team is all pumped for the week with mentorship, capacity building and work planning sessions.

Through the "We Can't Wait Project" implemented by SIHA Network , the Women For Development Organisation team is participating in a "Capacity Building Training for Legal Literacy, Gender budgeting and Transformational Leadership for women led organizations and women rights activists".

The 4 days training is taking place at Juba Grand Hotel, South Sudan.
The "We Can't Wait Project" is supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands. Netherlands Embassy in South Sudan

The Women For Development Organisation - (WFDO) team is actively participating in a workshop on Transitional Justice Mechanisms: processes, strategies, implementation and progress under the theme; "Fostering a Gender Transformative Transitional Justice in South Sudan, a key to inclusion, reconciliation, compensation and healing".

Today is day 2 of the 4 days workshop organized by in partnership with and at Crown Hotel - Juba.

Our team joined other partners today for a discussion on "The role of National Women Rights Organizations in promoting gender justice in South Sudan.
Key among the issues discussed was identifying opportunities for networking and collaboration in the promotion of gender justice.
The meeting took place at Palm Africa Hotel in Juba, and was organized by Oxfam in South Sudan.

As we head towards the climax of the 16Days of activism against gender based violence against women and girls, the WFDO team is energized. We fully participated in a conference on barriers affecting gender equality among women and girls in south Sudan. The conference was organized by Action Girls Africa.

Earlier today, our program team joined other partners at Nyakuron Cultural Center for the national launch of the 16 days of Activism to End Gender Based Violence against womenand girls. This year's national theme is; "Act Now! Prevent and Respond to Gender Based Violence Against Women and Girls"
