THINGS YOU MUST KNOW AS AN ADULT
By the time you hit 30, you should be smart enough to how the world works. Reality checks should have slapped you around enough to know what’s up. Let me break it down, point by point, because if you still don’t get this by 30, you’re wasting your potential and time.
1. Someone makes 10x more than you do in a 9-5 job because they have more leverage.
You’re grinding away at your 9-5, putting in hours like a hamster on a wheel. Meanwhile, the guy who makes 10x more than you isn’t working harder—he’s working smarter. He’s using leverage. He’s got assets, investments, networks, and influence. Understand this: time is limited but leverage isn’t. If you’re not figuring out how to use leverage in your work, you’re signing up for a life of mediocrity.
2. Distraction is the greatest killer of success.
You think scrolling endlessly on social media, hopping from one pointless thing to another, isn’t affecting your goals? You’re wrong. Distraction is like cancer—it’ll eat away at your focus, kill your discipline, and leave you chasing your own tail. Cut the distractions, or the distractions will cut your success short.
3. Don’t take advice from people who aren’t where you want to be.
Everyone has opinions, but most of them are worth less than the air they use to speak them. If someone isn’t living the life you want or hasn’t achieved the goals you’re aiming for, ignore them. They can’t tell you how to succeed if they’ve never done it themselves(note: but you must not disrespect or interrupt them, because every opinion is important)
4. No one is coming to save your problems.
Let me hit you with this brutal truth: you are your own rescue plan. Waiting for someone to swoop in and save you is delusional. Your problems, your solutions. Own your life, because no one else is going to carry your load for you.
5. You don’t need 100 self-help books—just action and discipline.
Stop chasing the next motivational high. You don’t need 50 podcasts or 100 books to succeed. What you need is action. Every minute you spend reading about success is a minute you could have spent chasing it. Knowledge without action is dead weight.
6. Unless you went to college for a specific skill, learn sales.
Look, unless you’re in a specialized field like medicine, law, or engineering, that degree you’re clinging to is practically useless. If you really want to start making money fast, learn how to sell. Sales will open doors for you that no degree ever will. In 90 days, you could be earning more than you did in four years of college.
7. No one cares about you. So stop being shy.
The harsh truth is, nobody’s watching you as closely as you think. They’re too busy with their own lives. Stop being shy, stop holding yourself back. Go out and take what you want, because the world won’t hand it to you.
8. If you find someone smarter than you, work with them, not against them.
You don’t always have to be the smartest person in the room. In fact, if you are, you’re in the wrong room. Find smarter people, and learn from them. Collaboration beats competition—don’t let your ego rob you of opportunities.
9. Smoking has 0 benefit in your life.
You’re killing your own potential every time you light up. It clouds your thinking, messes with your focus, and wrecks your health. Want to be sharp? Want to be productive? Then drop the bad habits that slow you down.
10. Comfort is the worst addiction.
Comfort feels good in the short term, but in the long run, it’ll destroy you. Comfort kills ambition. If you’re too comfortable, you’re not growing, you’re not pushing yourself, and you’re certainly not achieving greatness. Get uncomfortable. Stay hungry.
11. Keep your life private.
You don’t need to broadcast your every move. Let people wonder what you’re up to. Move in silence and let your success make the noise. Sharing too much gives people ammunition they don’t need.
12. Avoid alcohol at all costs.
Getting wasted may seem fun at the moment, but in the long run, it’s a drain on your energy, your wallet, and your reputation. Alcohol dulls your mind and makes a fool out of you. If you can’t stay sharp, you can’t stay ahead.
13. Keep your standards high.
Don’t settle. In anything. Whether it’s your career, your relationships, or your lifestyle—keep your standards high. Just because something is available doesn’t mean it’s right for you. You’re worth more.
14. The family you create is more important than the family you come from.
Your future is what matters. Focus on building a family that aligns with your values. The people you choose to bring into your life—your wife, your kids—those are your real legacy. Don’t let anyone hold you back.
15. Don’t take things personally.
Taking things personally is a waste of time and mental energy. People project their own issues onto you, but that’s not your problem. Detach from the opinions of others and you’ll save yourself from 99.99% of unnecessary stress.
16. If you don’t kill your distractions, your distractions will kill your goals.
Every goal you have will be destroyed if you allow distractions to dominate your life. You must be ruthless. Eliminate distractions like they’re your worst enemy because they are. Without focus, your goals will die.

THE UGLY VULTURE
A Story With A Valuable Lesson.
One day, a vulture was walking down the path and saw a beautiful pot lying on the ground. He was surprised and could not believe that such a beautiful pot existed anywhere in the world.
Suddenly, the pot said to the vulture,
"My name is Oppor. I am a mighty pot endowed with supernatural powers. I can make you beautiful because I am the Goddess of beauty. I have blessed thousands of birds and animals with beauty. Here, just have a drink of my liquid, and you shall transform into a gorgeous and glamorous bird. Just today, I have blessed many birds; the peafowl, the parrot, the flamingo, the pheasant, the cockatoo and more, each with unique beauty."
The vulture gave the pot a doubtful look, shook his head reluctantly, and then whistled,
"I don't believe in you, and I don't trust you. You just want to trick me and harm me any way you can."
The pot muttered,
"Oh, come on, I'm not evil or anything. Don't underestimate my power. I truly want to make you beautiful."
The vulture paused for a moment, then said hoarsely,
"Just give me a minute, all right? I need to go out there and confirm it from the birds you just mentioned. Wait for me, I'll be right back."
The vulture left in such a hurry. When he reached the village, he realized that most of the birds had become beautiful. Wow, the pot was right after all, he thought to himself. He quickly ran back to the pot, but the pot was no longer there. When he looked back, he saw the pot disappearing into thin air. He screamed,
"No, no, wait! Don't go yet! Please, make me beautiful! Give me one more chance, please!"
However, the disappearing pot said,
"It's too late. You have already missed the golden opportunity. You didn't just understand, but I told you my name is Oppor which is simply the short form of opportunity. If anyone misses opportunity, they will never get it back. Because opportunity comes, but only once. Goodbye!"
As soon as the pot disappeared completely, the vulture threw himself to the ground and wept bitterly.
How many times have we lost opportunities in life because of our doubts, fears, shyness, hesitation and procrastination? Life provides equal opportunities to all of us, to become a better version of ourselves. Some might be visible and others might not be visible. No one is going to tell you that this opportunity would transform your life. Sometimes, we feel very egoistic to accept when an opportunity is given to us. But only later on, we realize it. But then, it becomes too late. Nothing is worse than missing an opportunity that could have changed your life. Never miss any opportunity. Grab and conquer opportunities when they near you and never take any options for granted.

THE BORROWED NECKLACE
Learn From This Story.
One day, a young bride heard a knock at her door. When she opened the door, she saw her neighbour who asked for her help,
"Please, could I borrow your gold necklace for a party I have tonight? The gold colour will perfectly match my outfit."
The bride sighed and whispered,
"I'm sorry, but tomorrow is my wedding, and I'm going to wear the gold necklace."
The neighbour pleaded with the bride to let her borrow her necklace. She said in a very gentle tone,
"I promise to return it in the morning, as soon as I'm back from the party. You can still wear it to your wedding. Please, let me borrow it."
The bride shook her head slowly, and then whistled,
"I don't mean to be rude, but I just can't give you my wedding necklace. It is something very precious to me, and it was given to me by my late mother. I can't trust you with it."
However, the neighbour who was truly in need of the necklace, kept convincing the bride to let her borrow it, saying,
"Trust me... it'll be safe, and I'm going to return it tommorow morning. You don't have to worry about anything, I promise. Your necklace will be absolutely in safe hands, please."
The bride still did not agree to that, but when she saw the emotion in her neighbour's eyes, she felt a lot of empathy for her. She decided to help her, so she went inside the house and brought out the gold necklace which she handed to her. The neighbour thanked her and then left.
The following morning, the bride began to cry her eyes out. She had waited for several hours, but her neighbour hadn't returned her necklace. She was panicking and her heart was pounding as her neighbour was nowhere to be found. Sadly, she did not wear her precious necklace to her wedding.
Three days later, the neighbour finally returned. The unhappy bride went to her and asked,
"Where is my necklace?"
The neighbour answered without remorse,
"Oh, I lost it that night at the party. It fell off and I didn't realize it."
However, when the bride tried to confront her for failing to keep her promise, she suddenly and unexpectedly began to scream angrily,
"It's just a necklace! It's worthless! If you want, I'd buy you a hundred if it! Stop embarrassing me!"
The bride could not believe it. She stood there for a moment in shock, shook her head repeatedly, and then walked away, her heart filled with regret.
Some people will borrow something from you in a humble and meek manner. But will show you an attitude when you come asking for your stuff back. Give generously, but with caution.
