We thank God for Scripture Union, South Sudan Refugee Ministry in Uganda
The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are not separate, but they are distinct — three Persons in perfect unity. Because of this, they have existed in self-giving love and joyful fellowship for all eternity.

Good News to Our Volunteers and Staff for those who are in Theological or are joining please inbox us here Email: [email protected]
Here are the conditions
We are writing to advise you of an excellent opportunity to obtain assistance towards the costs of theological study for SU staff or key volunteers. We are keen to encourage our key personnel to undertake this type of study as we know it will enhance their ministry and that of others in Scripture Union.
The trust that SUI applies to sets out very strict criteria as to who is entitled to receive theological study scholarships. These are:
1. The recipient must be from Africa, Asia, Latin America or Eastern Europe.
2. The recipient must be engaged in Christian work.
3. Priority is given to those who already have proven themselves with some years’ experience in Christian ministry.
4. The studies should enable them to have an ongoing ministry training and equipping others for Christian ministry in their own country.
5. The recipient should be intending to continue working/volunteering with SU in their home country for at least another three years after the study has been completed.
6. The course must have an emphasis on deepening biblical or theological understanding as a foundation for Christian ministry.
7. The Institution must be an approved Christian Institution.
8. Preference will be given to those studying in their own country. If the planned study is in another country, the recipient must:
a. be able to show why it is necessary to study away from home
b. plan to return to minister in their home country after the course has been completed
9. The Trust believe it is important that, if at all possible, married candidates who have to study outside their home country should have their family with them.
10.The scholarship will only cover a proportion of course costs. Grants will not be given to cover books or other expenses related to the course. The trustees hope and expect that the balance of funds will be provided from locally generated funds.
11.Grants will only be given for one year at a time and will only be continued in subsequent years if satisfactory reports are received each year, for a maximum of three years unless there are exceptional circumstances.
12.Grants will not be provided to students who are moving straight from one course to another unless there are exceptional circumstances.
13.Priority will be given to help fund the earning of first degrees e.g., bachelor’s degrees.
Applications that fail to meet all these criteria will not be considered for a scholarship.
Deadline is 11/Jul/2025

BREAKING NEWS: Government bans Facebook, TikTok across South Sudan
National Communication Authority (NCA) has ordered a nationwide blockage of all social media platforms, including Facebook and TikTok, for up to 90 days. The directive, issued on January 22, 2025, instructs Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to restrict access from midnight on January 22nd.
The move follows the circulation of graphic content depicting the violent attacks on South Sudanese refugees in Wad Madani, Sudan, which the government says have caused public distress and pose a threat to national security and mental health. The NCA stated that the ban aims to curb the spread of harmful content that violates national laws and disrupts public order.
While the ban is set for a maximum of 90 days, the authority indicated that restrictions could be lifted earlier if the situation is deemed under control.
