The Jiye of Eastern Equatoria — Keepers of an Untold Heritage.
Tucked away in the remote lands of Eastern Equatoria, South Sudan, the Jiye people live with quiet strength and vibrant cultural identity. As one of the lesser-known Nilotic ethnic groups, the Jiye share linguistic and cultural ties with their neighbors, like the Toposa and Nyangatom—yet they remain distinctly unique.
Their livelihoods revolve around pastoralism, seasonal cultivation, and traditional rituals that honor the land, ancestors, and community bonds.
