Mayor Aki-Sawyerr Inspects Ongoing Historic Clock Tower Restoration
This afternoon Deputy Mayor Kweku Lisk Esq and I visited the East End Police Clock Tower to inspect ongoing conservation and restoration works aimed at preserving one of the city’s most iconic heritage landmarks.
Funded by the Commonwealth Heritage Foundation, and implemented by West Africa Heritage Consultants, this intervention safeguards our city’s history whilst providing valuable skills training for the 12 member local team comprising of engineers, stone masons and carpenters. With training from and under the supervision of UK based Stonemason and Conservationist David Lamb, the local team are painstakingly restoring the original laterite stone work of the Clock Tower. (This coincides beautifully with the ongoing restoration of the Old Fourah Bay College building which was also constructed with laterite stone).
I am really excited that the original clock in the tower will be replaced as part of this work so that Freetown will once again hear a clock chime in the city!
(Btw, if you look closely at my outfit, you’ll see that I am still wearing blue and pink! 🩷💙🩷💙)

A Bñessed Good Friday
Our Mayor in Waiting!!!!
31st March 2026
In a strong show of unity and solidarity, all twenty-two councillors of the Freetown City Council stand firmly with Mayor Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr and her Deputy, Kweku Lisk, amid allegations that four APC councillors accepted one hundred thousand new Leones each to impeach the Mayor.
We categorically reject and debunk these claims as they are baseless, misleading and clearly intended to create division and distraction from the progress being made in Freetown.
As councillors of the Mighty APC, we remain united in purpose and unwavering in our commitment to serve the people of Freetown. We stand by the Mayor and her Deputy, recognizing their leadership and the strides made under their administration.
We reaffirm our collective responsibility to the people of Freetown and remain focused on delivering sustainable development, good governance and improved service delivery.
We call on all Freetownians to remain confident in our leadership and to reject misinformation aimed at undermining our shared progress.
Together, we move forward with resilience, determination and a clear vision for a better Freetown.

Kweku Lisk Blends Football Governance with World-Class Spectacle in Qatar
By Abdul Karim Mansaray (MCIPS)
18-Dec-2025
His Worship the Deputy Mayor of Freetown and Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) Executive Committee member, Kweku Melvin Lisk (ESQ), has successfully concluded a significant three-day working visit to Doha, Qatar. The trip, centered on global football governance, also offered a front-row seat to one of the sport's most thrilling club contests.
Lisk was in Qatar to attend the FIFA Committees Plenary and the pivotal FIFA Council meeting on December 17. These gatherings are where the strategic vision for global football is set, covering everything from tournament regulations to development initiatives. His participation underscores Sierra Leone's active engagement in the sport's international administration.
The working visit was also a moment for high-level networking. Lisk joined a distinguished cohort of football administrators, including Malta FA President Bjorn Vassallo, who serves as the Deputy Chairperson of the FIFA Institutional Relations Committee. Also in attendance were other committee members such as Adwa Abdulrahman, A. Alarifi, and FIFA Council delegate Razvan Burleanu.
A professional highlight of the trip was witnessing the 2025 FIFA Intercontinental Cup final. The match, held at the Ahmad bin Ali Stadium, was a dramatic encounter where France's Paris Saint-Germain clinched their first world title by defeating Brazil's Flamengo 2-1 in a penalty shootout. The event showcased the exceptional world-class sporting infrastructure Qatar has continued to build and perfect.
Beyond the pitch, Lisk's profile is one of significant national service. Elected Deputy Mayor in October 2023, he is also the managing partner of a prominent law firm with extensive experience in international corporate law. This blend of legal acumen, civic leadership, and sports administration positions him as a unique asset in efforts to develop football in Sierra Leone and advocate for the nation's interests on prestigious international platforms like FIFA.
