From learning to innovation, the journey continues.

Over the past three days 28-30 April, 2026. I had the honor of participating in the Smart Campus Innovation Hackathon Bootcamp at Njala University – Hosted by Christex Foundation and Directorate of Science Technology and Innovation (DSTI) , as a representative of CodeiT Innovate Hub-SL.

The bootcamp served as the foundation for a one-month innovation hackathon focused on transforming Njala University through technology-driven and student-centered solutions. It was an inspiring experience filled with learning, collaboration, creativity, and problem-solving among young innovators and future change-makers.

Throughout the sessions, participants explored how innovation, digital technology, and teamwork can help solve real campus and community challenges while creating sustainable impact.

At CodeiT Innovate Hub-SL, we strongly believe that empowering young people with practical digital skills and innovation opportunities is key to building stronger communities and a better future for Sierra Leone.

This experience has further strengthened our commitment to promoting technology, youth innovation, and community development in Kailahun and beyond.

Today, Jusu Braima was privilege to representing CodeiT Innovate Hub-SL at the AU-EU Youth Voices Lab Training Session, a powerful initiative focused on youth engagement, empowerment, and collaboration for inclusive development across Africa and Europe.

The session centered around the inspiring message:

“Engage. Empower. Connect.”

As young people, we are not just the leaders of tomorrow; we are active contributors to change today. The training provided valuable discussions on youth participation, community inclusion, leadership, collaboration, and the importance of creating opportunities that respond to the real needs of young people in our communities.

At CodeiT Innovate Hub-SL, we strongly believe that technology, innovation, and youth empowerment can transform communities like Kailahun and Sierra Leone as a whole. Participating in spaces like this strengthens our vision of using digital skills, innovation, and community-driven solutions to empower young people and promote sustainable development.
