On 2nd August, a group of women from Patton City (Rovers) convened an emergency meeting with other community members. The primary objective was to resolve internal disputes and foster unity within the community.
The Chairman of the meeting, Mr. Fullah, opened the session by clarifying that the gathering was specifically focused on the role of women in driving community progress. He issued a formal apology on behalf of the women to the entire community and emphasized the vital importance and contributions of women in any society. He then opened the floor to various speakers.
Ya Alimamy Manso greeted the attendees and expressed her joy at the community's progress and development. She stressed that Patton City (Rovers) should remain non-political, focusing solely on development rather than political ideologies, which she believes can destroy organizations. She addressed the community's divisions and noted that Kosseh Town had long been the central force, which is why Patton Rovers was revived. She also highlighted the importance of secret societies in community life.
Madam Isata (Cece), Chairlady of Constituency 122, greeted the gathering and stated that although she could have supported other areas like Kosseh Town, Fourahbay, or Magazine, she chose Patton City (Rovers) because it "runs through her blood." She called on everyone to set aside their differences and prioritize the community's interests. In a lighthearted moment, she said, “If na witch, make we all go witch 4 make we win,” a statement that drew laughter and agreement from all present.
Chairlady of Bombay madam Isata, She also shared how the community had embraced her and expressed confidence in future success, adding that Patton City (Rovers) would resume its Sunday jogging the following weekend.
Aunty Abie expressed sincere gratitude to the women for initiating the meeting. She urged that players train regularly before matches to build team chemistry. She noted the presence of talented young players in the community and pleaded for their inclusion. She also confirmed that the executive had approached Coach JK and begged him to rejoin the team.
Mammy John spoke about the community's struggles and countered some earlier statements, particularly the claim that Coach JK had been begged to return. She clarified that although the executive had approached him, he had refused. She also highlighted the team’s financial and operational constraints.
Madam Fatmata (Cookery), another key organizer, explained how the women had mobilized to meet Coach JK and seek forgiveness on behalf of the community.
The Vice Chairlady of Patton City (Rovers) Fatty, opened with the saying, “Rome was not built in a day,” reminding everyone that great achievements require time, patience, and persistent effort. She apologized to the community for the team’s poor performance and stressed that success cannot be achieved without adequate funding. She appealed for financial support and reiterated the importance of pre-match training to improve team cohesion.
Madam Amanda, a dedicated supporter, appreciated the executive and the women’s wing. She noted that Patton City (Rovers) had pioneered the community jogging tradition, which others later adopted, but lamented that they had since stopped. She urged the community to resume the activity for health benefits.
Former Coach JK then gave his account of the conflict between him and the management. He expressed disappointment that after the finals at Attouga Mini Stadium, the management did not offer him anything. He also mentioned that his runners-up medal was taken by Madieu and addressed a verbal exchange with former TM Alusine. After laying out his grievances, he accepted the community’s apology.
Former TM Aluspaa, one of the pioneers who helped revive Patton City (Rovers), expressed gratitude to the management and Coach JK for their mercy. He also thanked everyone for attending.
Chairman Willo acknowledged the challenges faced by the executive, noting that they had spent over one hundred thousand New Leones. Baba Razak, one of the oldest members of Patton Rovers, praised the executive for their dedication and for taking on the mantle of responsibility. He expressed appreciation for the respect and love shown to him by the executive.
