Even under the heaviest rains, our hustle does not stop. At EMaSFSA, we believe that true commitment to environmental protection means standing firm, rain or shine, for the sake of our people and our planet.
The storms remind us of the urgency of climate change the floods, the landslides, the destruction. But instead of giving up, we rise stronger. Every tree we plant, every mangrove we restore, every farm we protect is an act of love for our community and a shield against the climate crisis.
The rain may soak our clothes, but it cannot wash away our determination. Our hustle is powered by hope, rooted in resilience, and driven by the belief that a safe, green, and sustainable future is possible for all.
🌧️💪🏾 For the love of our community, we hustle through the storm because climate action cannot wait.

As part of our preparations for the 2025 Tree Planting Campaign, the team at Environmental Management and Sustainable Farming Services for Africa (EMaSFSA) conducted successful visits to our key nursery sites located in Port Loko, Makeni, and Kono districts.
These visits are part of our commitment to ensuring the healthy growth and management of thousands of seedlings being raised for this year’s reforestation activities. Each site showcases strong local partnerships, youth involvement, and sustainable nursery practices that are crucial for climate resilience and ecosystem restoration.
EMaSFSA remains dedicated to restoring degraded landscapes, promoting environmental awareness, and engaging local communities as active players in climate action.
Together, we are not just planting trees we are growing hope for a greener Sierra Leone 🇸🇱🌳

Today, on World Environment Day, a day meant to celebrate the beauty and resilience of our planet we are heartbroken by the loss of one of its greatest guardians: Mr. Eric Hubbard.
At EMaSFSA Sierra Leone, we mourn not only a leader in the climate movement, but a true partner in purpose. Eric was more than an environmental expert. He was a visionary who believed deeply in community-led change, in nature-based solutions, in a circular green economy, and most of all in young people.
His tireless work to restore forests, empower local action, and build sustainable futures, especially through projects like , has left an undeniable mark not just on landscapes, but on lives.
To lose him on World Environment Day is a deeply painful irony. But it is also a powerful reminder that his mission lives on in all of us. His vision, his voice, his values these are the seeds he has left behind, and it is now our duty to ensure they grow.
Rest in power, Mr. Eric Hubbard.
Your roots run deep, and your legacy will forever guide the work we do.

Today isn’t just about raising awareness it’s about reconnecting with the Earth that gives us life.
From the trees that clean our air to the oceans that regulate our climate, nature works tirelessly for us every day. But are we doing enough in return?
Whether it’s planting a tree, reducing waste, protecting a mangrove, or simply sharing knowledge every little action counts.
Let’s not wait for change. Let’s be the change. Together, we can protect our environment and build a greener, fairer future for all — including the generations yet to come.

We are truly honored to have played a role in the recent visit of the Yale University School of the Environment delegation to Freetown. As a proud partner and tree nursery supplier for the initiative, it was a privilege to host Professor Karen Seto, Director Colleen Murphy-Dunning of the Hixon Center for Urban Sustainability, and their dedicated graduate students at our nursery site in Songo.
Their engagement with our team and youth growers was both energizing and encouraging. It affirmed the value of grassroots environmental action and the importance of nurturing global partnerships to advance climate resilience and urban sustainability.
We are particularly inspired by the fact that the “FreetownTheTreeTown” capstone course was born from a lecture delivered by the Mayor of Freetown at Yale’s Hixon Center in August 2023—an incredible example of how local impact can spark global academic collaboration.
We applaud the leadership of Freetown’s Mayor and all partners for making this vision a reality and look forward to strengthening our collaboration with Yale University and other stakeholders as we work together to and continue through climate action.

On Friday, 2nd May 2025, we had the honor of hosting a distinguished professor and a group of brilliant students from Yale University at our nursery site. Their visit was part of a learning experience centered around the Initiative a movement we are proud to contribute to as key implementing partners.
During the visit, we had the opportunity to share our journey how we started with a simple vision to restore ecosystems, what inspired us to take bold steps in climate action, and the strategies we use to maintain a thriving nursery that supplies thousands of seedlings. We also discussed our approach to staff recruitment, emphasizing our commitment to empowering local youth and building green skills for the future.
This visit reminded us why we do what we do: to protect our environment, create jobs, and inspire hope. It was both humbling and energizing to see our work through the eyes of passionate learners from one of the world’s leading universities.
Thank you to the Freetown City Council and the Yale team for this enriching exchange. At EMaSFSA, we believe that when passion meets purpose, impact is inevitable.
Let’s keep planting, growing, and transforming lives one seedling at a time.

🌎 Happy Earth Day 2025 from all of us at EMaSFSA Sierra Leone 🌿
Today isn’t just another date on the calendar. It’s a reminder a moment to pause, look around, and ask ourselves: What are we doing to protect the only home we have?
Here at EMaSFSA, we’ve walked through forests that are slowly disappearing. We’ve stood with communities watching their rivers dry up and felt the heat rising in places where trees once stood. And yet, we’ve also seen hope. We’ve seen people come together to plant seedlings, clean up their neighborhoods, and speak up for the environment.
That’s the spirit of Earth Day. It’s about community, action, and care.
It’s about remembering that the Earth doesn’t need us we need the Earth.
This year’s message is simple: Let’s invest in our planet. Not with money alone, but with our time, our choices, and our love. Whether it's planting one tree, choosing to farm in a way that respects nature, or simply teaching a child why clean air and green spaces matter it all counts.
Our Earth gives us everything. The least we can do is give something back.
So today, and every day, let’s take small steps together toward a greener, safer, and healthier Sierra Leone.
Let’s plant. Let’s protect. Let’s speak up. And most of all, let’s act because the future is not waiting. 🌱
From the heart of our team to your family. Happy Earth Day. Let’s take care of home, together. 💚
