A Reminder for Everyone: Trust in Allah’s Timing

A friend shared something with me today, and it reminded me of a reality that touches all of us: envy can quietly creep into our hearts, even in small doses.

She told me about someone she knows who got admitted into university last year. They had graduated together, written exams at the same time, yet this person was admitted first. Recently, she saw them again. They called her, and she answered but deep inside, she felt a small sting of envy. She wasn’t happy about their success. That tiny pang, though subtle, affected her mood and made her feel sad and discouraged.

But then she remembered an important truth: Almighty Allah has written each person’s qadar differently. Everyone’s journey is unique. What is meant for you will never miss you, and what is not meant for you cannot reach you.

This is a reminder for all of us:

Do not despair. Someone else’s progress doesn’t mean you are behind.

Do not fear. Life unfolds according to Allah’s plan, not your timetable.

Be genuinely happy for others. Celebrate their successes sincerely; it brings peace to your heart.

Pray for yourself and others. Sincere du’a is powerful and changes hearts and destinies.

Envy often shows up in ways we don’t even notice:

Feeling upset when a friend gets a promotion while you’re still waiting for your opportunity.

Wishing you were married when you see someone else’s wedding photos.

Feeling restless when someone buys a house, starts a business, or travels, while your dreams are on hold.

Comparing your children, skills, or achievements with others and feeling “less than.”

Wishing your life looked like someone else’s on social media.

Remember: we all have different qadar. Some achieve things early, some later. Some are blessed with wealth, others with patience, wisdom, or resilience. Some find love early, others build themselves first. None of this makes you less. Your journey is yours, and Allah’s timing is perfect.

So, to everyone: let go of envy, embrace contentment, and trust Allah’s plan. Be genuinely happy for others and pray for your own blessings. Your moment is coming don’t let someone else’s success steal your joy.

Assalamualaikum warahamatullah

THE LONELINESS OF THE GRAVE IS REAL.

There will come a day when they will carry you.

Strong men will lift you. Loved ones will follow behind you. Some will be crying. Some will be silent. Some will already be thinking about returning home.

They will lower you into a narrow space beneath the earth.

Then they will leave.

The calls will stop.
The footsteps will fade.
The soil will be placed back.

And you will remain.

Alone.

The grave is not a story. It is not a metaphor. It is not far away. It is a real home waiting for each of us. A home without a phone. Without friends. Without followers. Without noise.

Only you.
Your deeds.
And your Lord.

On that day, your beauty will not follow you. Your wealth will not follow you. Your status will not follow you. Your certificates will not follow you.

What will follow you is your Salah.
Your hidden charity.
Your tears in sujood.
Your sincere tawbah.
Your relationship with the Qur’an.

If you used to remember Allah when no one was watching, the grave will not feel strange.
If you used to stand in the night while others slept, the darkness will not terrify you.
If you filled your heart with dhikr, the silence will not crush you.

But if the dunya was everything to you, that loneliness will be heavy.

The grave is the first station of the Hereafter. It is either a garden from Jannah or a pit from the Fire. There is no third option.

Prepare for the place where no one can accompany you.

Prepare for the night that has no sunrise except by the mercy of Allah.

Do not wait until you are carried.

Fix your Salah now.
Return to the Qur’an now.
Seek forgiveness now.

Because the loneliness of the grave is real.

6 Sunnahs to Perform After a Child is Born (According to the Sunnah of the Prophet SAW)

1. Tahneek (تحنيك)
Rub a softened date (or something sweet) on the baby’s palate to welcome them with barakah.

2. Adhaan & Iqamah

Recite Adhaan in the right ear

Recite Iqamah in the left ear
A way to spiritually welcome the child into Islam.

3. Naming the Child
Give a beautiful and meaningful name—preferably on the 7th day.
Names of Prophets or righteous believers are encouraged.

4. Aqiqah (عقيقة)
Slaughter an animal as a form of gratitude:

2 sheep for a boy, 1 sheep for a girl
Distribute the meat among family and the needy.

5. Shaving the Head
Shave the baby’s head on the 7th day and give charity in silver equal to the hair’s weight.

6. Circumcision (Khitan)
Recommended for boys. Should be done in early childhood as a sign of purity and cleanliness.

All of these acts are full of blessings and help start your child’s life upon the fitrah (natural way of Islam).
