NOCTURNALS – Out Now!

We’re proud to finally release our debut EP 'Nocturnals', now available everywhere.

This project began years ago as an experiment between us two long-time friends with a simple idea: to create music from a completely empty and open palette, free from rules and expectations. The result became these three instrumental pieces, blending acoustic guitars, dark atmospheres, and moments that move between beauty and unease.

We’re happy to finally share “Nightwalker”, the first song and music video from our upcoming instrumental EP Nocturnals, out November 28.

As mentioned before, Paintrail is an experimental project between two long-time friends. The music was written years ago, then revisited recently, and brought to life with a fresher perspective.

Nightwalker was the first song we wrote and it represents the core of what Paintrail is about: creating music from a completely empty and open palette, free from rules and expectations. Built on acoustic guitars and layered with darker textures, we think it lives somewhere between beauty and unease. A strange, atmospheric journey that can feel both comforting and unsettling.

We’re grateful for anyone who takes the time to watch and listen.

The three compositions that make up Nocturnals were co-written back in 2016-2017 and have just recently been brought to life in a fully realized production. What does Paintrail and Nocturnals sound like? We invite you to find out for yourselves. But to give you a hint for whether or not it might be something for you, the music is:

🎶 Entirely instrumental
🎶 Dominated by acoustic guitars with driving drums, bass, and atmospheric keys
🎶 Inspired by the darker corners of Opeth, Steven Wilson, and Storm Corrosion
🎶 Music that feels like a semi-acoustic horror tale, with moments of eerie dissonance and flashes of melody

We see Nocturnals as a strange and haunting journey, sometimes unsettling, sometimes beautiful, always shifting like the feeling of wandering alone at night.
