Jealousy is a common emotional response that can appear in consensual non-monogamy (CNM)—even among couples who were the ones to initiate it. Many partners describe feeling excited, prepared, and even confident after a few positive experiences… and then, unexpectedly, jealousy or insecurity shows up later…

One of the most common misconceptions in ethical non-monogamy is the belief that all unicorns are polyamorous.

They’re not.

In fact, much of the confusion comes from how the word unicorn has been adopted by different communities and used to describe very different relationship dynamics.�

Before it became a celebration, before the parades, before the rainbow-colored posts across social media, Pride was—and still is—about resistance.

It honors the people who were silenced, excluded, and persecuted simply for loving who they love and being who they are.

It reminds us that living authentically in a world that still judges difference often requires a courage that should never have been necessary, yet remains deeply important.

This month is an invitation.

To those who are still finding the courage to be seen: you are not alone.

To those who have already stepped forward and created space for others: thank you.
