ESCAPED INMATE SENTENCED: An inmate who reportedly escaped in New Orleans has been sentenced to two life sentences for a 2018 double murder case. Derrick Groves, 28, was back in the courtroom after he and nine other inmates escaped by crawling through a hole behind a jail toilet. He was found by authorities in Georgia hiding under a home. The judge said Groves’ escape caused “concern, disappointment, frustration, and displeasure.” He also said that Groves showed no remorse for his actions and that the city would be safer with him in prison for life.

What makes a democracy strong? Is it the following and abiding of an handwritten Constitution that Governs or is it the humility to admit when we're wrong and that we don’t really know everything? Power. With great power comes great responsibility. Power is encouraging goodness, having certain restraints and limits, being able to discern right from wrong and also in doing what seems to be best for the people. Power is not bestowed based upon worldly gain or possession and intellect or title, but something earned through continuous listening, efforts, hard work and changing for the best. Power listens before taking any action, it is not simply controlling or trying to rule. Power confronts wickedness, defends the oppressed and acts favorably for the good of the people and the poor non intellect of Society. “The president isn’t an elected king, no matter what decisions he can make or how many bombs he can drop,” In an age where the world's political ego often eclipses public good, we should be reminded that real leadership is in humility and not from vague authority simply. Governments hence, should be more transparent, fluid, accountable, humane, and should not be a monument to its own self-importance or running the agenda of the rich of societies and that of their upper echelon. True power lies in being patient, listening, compromising and understanding, and not from conquering, leading and taking decisions. Those who are elected to the position of power such as Politicians and Governments etc.., should especially serve the people even more rather than just trying to reign over them.
