We envision a world where every child can breathe, live and thrive.

FREO2 is driven by the belief that each and every child has the right to access medical care. We act on this belief through innovation: creating affordable and appropriate technologies to reduce health inequality. We define development as a process through which people gain greater control over the circumstances of their lives. Through our technology we aim to give greater control to health workers and the people they serve.

We are so grateful for our partners like Grand Challenges Canada / Grands Défis Canada, who share our vision of a world where no child dies due to lack of oxygen.

With their support, over 150 FREO2 Oxylink systems are now providing uninterrupted oxygen across remote health facilities Uganda, Tanzania, and the Solomon Islands, helping save thousands of lives each year.

Together, we’re building a future where every child can breathe freely. 💙

FREO2 staff around the world are wearing blue to raise awareness of childhood pneumonia this 💙

From Australia to the Solomon Islands, Uganda, and Tanzania, our small but mighty team of 35+ staff is working behind the scenes every day to expand oxygen access; a proven treatment that can dramatically improve outcomes for children with pneumonia and other respiratory illnesses.

Why blue? It’s the global colour for pneumonia awareness, a symbol of hope and action for every child who struggles to breathe. Awareness matters because every child deserves a chance to survive, and visibility drives action, funding, and solutions.

Together, we’re lighting up the world blue, because every breath counts!

Today, on , we mark a major milestone at FREO2... 30,000 children treated with life-saving oxygen, including baby Lawrence in the Solomon Islands.

Pneumonia remains the world’s deadliest infectious killer of children, claiming over 700,000 lives under five each year, yet it is both preventable and treatable. Awareness, early diagnosis, and access to medical oxygen can reduce childhood pneumonia deaths by up to 35%.

Lawrence’s journey from a rural clinic to Kilu’ufi Hospital highlights the challenge of delivering care across nearly 1,000 islands. Thanks to FREO2’s Oxylink system, he received high-quality, reliable oxygen; giving his failing lungs a fighting chance.

Our numbers are growing rapidly, but every child still needs a chance. Access to oxygen is not a luxury, it’s a human right.

A Life-Saving Breath in Remote Corners — FREO2 Foundation 18/11/2024

Earlier this year, FREO2 treated our 10,000th patient, baby Emmanuel from Tanzania. Born two months and weighing just 1.4 kg, Emmanuel’s survival was made possible by timely access to oxygen through FREO2’s Oxylink System at his local health centre.

Now celebrating his first birthday, Emmanuel is thriving - a powerful reminder of the life-saving impact of oxygen therapy and the urgent need for equitable neonatal care. His journey inspires us to continue advocating for life-saving interventions for every baby, especially premature infants.

📖 Read Emmanuel’s inspiring story in our latest blog post for : https://freo2.org/blog/baby-10000 💜

A Life-Saving Breath in Remote Corners — FREO2 Foundation As we reflect on the first year of our FY 24-26 Maximising Oxygen Miles (MOM) strategy, we revisit the story of Emmanuel, our 10,000th patient, which powerfully illustrates why our work is so profoundly significant in remote areas.

| November 17 💜🌍

Today, we honour the strength of premature infants and their families, as well as the healthcare heroes who support them. With 1 in 10 babies born too soon globally, prematurity isn’t just an early start, it’s a journey of resilience. These tiny fighters face immense health challenges, from breathing struggles to reaching critical developmental milestones.

In places where health resources are stretched, NICU care may be as simple as a warm room and an adult bed. Medical is a lifeline in this journey and FREO2's Oxylink Systems are making a difference, bringing reliable oxygen to NICUs across , , and the Islands since 2018.

Let’s raise awareness today for the millions of premature babies born each year and work together to ensure every one of them has a fighting chance at a healthy start, with reliable, accessible, and affordable oxygen where it’s needed most. 💜

Clearing Up Myths for Children’s Health ✅ ❌

As we continue raising awareness this week, we’re tackling common myths about pneumonia that put young lives at risk. In low-resource settings, these misconceptions often delay essential care and prevent families from knowing how to protect their children. By sharing the facts, we’re empowering parents and caregivers to act early and prioritise prevention.

Together, let’s break down these myths and support communities in focusing on awareness, timely treatment, and the life-saving power of oxygen.
