Today in Kigali, the Minister of Gender and Family Promotion, Uwimana Consolee presided a three-day global technical financing forum that aims at advancing sustainable financing for the early years, with a focus on health, nutrition, care, childcare, social protection, and early learning.

In her opening remarks, Minister Consolee emphasized the urgent need to increase investment in early childhood and to ensure the effective and efficient use of available resources to achieve maximum and sustainable impact for children.

Through presentation, expert-panel and deep discussions, participants from government representatives, influential leaders, investors, and development partners shared insights and expertise on strengthening investment in the early years.

Held under the theme “𝐈𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬: 𝐀 𝐆𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐮𝐦,” the forum was organized and co-hosted by the Government of Rwanda, Early Childhood Development Action Network (ECDAN) and other partners.

Investing in early childhood is a core development priority. At the starting tomorrow in Kigali, experts and decision makers are unpacking how to catalyze domestic financing and break down barriers to sustainable systems for children and caregivers.
