From Pastor Dede - "We are so thankfull to God and to you for the Upward program. We enjoy it very much. May God bless you!"
Update from Pastor Ionut Dumitru in Soimus, Hondol & Mintia, Romania - 2011:
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
We are sending you special greetings from Soimus and we are so glad to be partners with you in the wonderful ministry that Jesus has given to all of us, the ministry of bringing His Gospel to the lost. Thank you so much for all your prayers and financial support, making our ministry for the Lord to be more powerful and efficient.
In the beginning of this year between January and March we have been involved as churches in a special timetable of prayers and fasting for the evangelistic events that we have expecting during this time. By God’s mercy we could have 9 special evangelistic meetings in the churches from Mintia, Somus and Hondol (3 meetings in each). In preparation of those meetings, besides prayers and fasting we have also gave 450 printed invitations in the three villages where the meetings took place (150/each). Each evening we have been impressed by the number of people who responded to our invitation. As a result of those evangelistic events, there where people who decided to receive Jesus into their hearts and life and we are expecting blessed harvest by His help into this fall in baptism services. One of the friends who came to know the Lord is Luci, whose wife Laura has been baptized last year in Soimus. At the beginning of this year they passed trough a dramatic event, because Laura was pregnant and she has lost the baby. Luci came to know Christ in March and few days ago Luci called me and he joyfully gave me the news that his wife is pregnant again but this time the doctor said that everything looks perfect with the baby and by God’s grace she will give birth in October. Please pray with me for this family to strengthening in the Lord and to also receive His blessings upon them and their family.
In Hondol, we have another testimony of a 45 years old man, who expressed his desire to receive Jesus and to be baptized. He was attending our church meetings for about a year but only at the end of our evangelistic time there he decided to withdraw his waiting time.
Regarding the children ministry in Mintia, we are glad to see that constantly more than 25 children are attending to our children meetings each Saturday from 16:00 to 17:00. The children are learning from the Bible, playing games and singing Christian songs and most of them as a result of their progress have been invited to sing into the best children choir from Romania (Crystal children choir) making their parents real proud. This ministry is attracting more children into Mintia and also we are glad to interact directly with their parents when they come to see their children praising the Lord for Easter and Christmas.
We have also started a new ministry in Mintia between the gypsies. I went together with a brother from Soimus and we have found more than 50 people coming together and carefully hearing what we have shared with them about Christ and salvation.
I have been preaching about Zacchaeus and his desire to receive Jesus into his house and we are planning in the first part of July to have a children ministry there between the poor gypsy children from Mintia.
Please pray with us for the people who have accepted Christ, to remain faithful in their decision, pray also for the counseling ministry that Saida is doing between the women from Soimus and also keep us as a family in your prayers. Pastor Marius shared how much commitment you have in your prayers for us weekly and sometime daily and we are thanking you so much for it.
May the Lord richly repay you and let you rejoice into His abundant grace!
In Christ, Ionut Dumitru
Story about Evangelism in Cebza & Sag, Romania - 2011 by Pastor Nenu Rasadea:
Dear Brethrens in Christ,
First of all, I would like to transmit you my gratitude and appreciation for all the commitment and sacrifices that you are doing to support the ministry from Cebza and Sag, two villages near Timisoara . I am so happy to be able to share good news from both places, after years of hard work fruits are starting to appear and grow.
Just before the Easter celebration I have prayed and the Lord have put on my heart a desire to have evangelistic services in Sag. I shared my desire with the few brothers and sisters there and we have started to pray and fast together for this ministry. Together with few students from Timisoara we have started to invite people and do personal evangelism from house to house. People where impressed and some of them even cried telling us that their own children forsaken them but it seems God never did. I am so happy to be able to comfort wounded hearts with the Gospel. I remembered what Paul said to Romans, chapter 15: For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. This ministry has had a great impact into the village and as a result, when we have organized our evangelistic meetings 8 friends attended our meetings. It was the first time for many years when so many friends of the church came to hear the Gospel preached. At the end of those meetings we have seen people touched by the Gospel, we have seen tears of joy and repentance in the eyes of some of our guests and when the preacher invited them to pray and receive Christ into their lives the most of them prayed. Please pray with us for wisdom to work with those people, helping them to grow in faith and at the proper moment to confess Christ publicly at baptism. The pictures are showing the evangelistic service and also the personal evangelism on streets.
Considering the ministry from Cebza, I am also bringing you good encouraging news. There is a man (unchristian) who have opened his door to receive us having meetings into his house. This is a huge step for our testimony into the village. Unfortunately his wife is very aggressive against Christianity and we need to pray a lot for them. You could see the man I have mentioned in the picture that I have attached. The summer season is very efficient for our personal evangelism on the streets of Cebza. Here people are sitting on benches in the evenings, tired after a day of work and during their relaxing time, we are coming along sharing Christ and the blessings of knowing Him and trusting in His Name. Please pray for open hearts for good fields and for the courage that we need to confess Christ to everyone we meet.
Thank you so much again for all your prayers and financial support and I pray that God will richly bless you, your family and your church!
In the Name of our dear Lord – Jesus, pastor Nenu (John) Rasadea
