: The Call for Papers for the UACES Graduate Forum Research Conference 2026 is now open.

On Friday, we shared our theme, and today we’re pleased to share the full details.

📍 -Bolyai University (UBB), Cluj-Napoca, Romania
📅 4–5 June 2026

“Europe at a Crossroads: Integration, Identity and Power in a Fragmenting World” invites reflection on how the EU is navigating political fragmentation, renewed geopolitical tensions and shifting global power dynamics — developments that continue to unfold in real time.

The conference offers a space for PhD and Early-Career Researchers (with a small number of places available for master’s students) to present work in progress, receive constructive feedback and engage in focused, interdisciplinary discussions.

We welcome contributions from across European Studies and related fields (Political Science, Law, Sociology, Economics, History, Anthropology, International Relations, Public Policy and beyond ✈️).

📌 How to apply:
• Submit a title and abstract (max. 250 words)
• Deadline: 25 March 2026 (midnight)

This year, we are also introducing rolling submissions — meaning earlier applications may receive decisions sooner.

The registration fee is £25 (supporting venue and catering costs), and travel funding is available, particularly for UACES members.

📌 Full details and submission form: https://www.uaces.org/gf26

We’re looking forward to the ideas, conversations and to welcoming you in Cluj-Napoca next June.

I recently wrapped up my first UACES (University Association for Contemporary European Studies) event in my role as Communications Officer for the UACES Graduate Forum—and what an experience it was!

From insightful panels and inspiring keynotes to lively networking and informal meetups, the UACES Graduate Forum 2025 in Athens brought together a brilliant community of early career researchers passionate about European studies.

I’m incredibly grateful to have been part of such a dynamic and welcoming space—and proud to contribute to promoting and supporting the next generation of scholars in the field.

A huge thank you to the amazing committee Blanca, Elena, Roberto, and Sydney, delegates, and of course, Inji, Katie, and Kerry from UACES for making it all happen.

See you in Liverpool!
