On the occasion of India’s Independence Day (15th August 2022), Cdr. Purnendu Tiwary (Retd), Cdr. Ajay Tiwary (Retd), Cdr. Anish Thakur (Retd) and Mr. Sajan Babu attended the Flag Hoisting ceremony and cultural programme at the Indian Cultural Centre Doha and extended best wishes to the Ambassador of India His Excellency Dr. Deepak Mittal & Embassy staff.

Knowledge sharing sessions are important method of employees’ learning used in Dahra Global. A knowledge sharing session was held on 28 July 22 attended by large number of employees. In this session Cmde. Prashant Kahlon (Retd) presented the latest technological exploitation in Network Centric Operations. Capt. V Anand Kumar (Retd) presented the latest technological development in the Autonomous Ship Vessels. Mr. Midhun Mohandas presented the details of the MSc Sustainable in Maritime Operations as conducted by the Plymouth University, UK.

With an aim to facilitate company employees to interact effectively without any barriers of prejudices and to in efficient teams for achieving departmental objectives and company objectives within the multicultural environment of the company, a training session on Teamwork and Cooperation was held on 16 June 2022. This session gave participants takeaways to improve their interpersonal skills and to understand importance of team spirit in work environment.

To make all employees vigilant about fire safety and firefighting methods, company conducts quarterly refam of firefighting. Sessions were held on 25 May & 17 Aug 2022 for new employees and selected firefighting team. These sessions helped new employees to get knowledge of fire safety, evacuation procedure and firefighting method in the company.

Developing training material is amongst the key tasks of Training department employees. With emphasis towards reduction in efforts and manual errors in preparation of training material, an inhouse development towards automation of handbook template has been created. Training sessions for Faculty were conducted on 16 May 22 and 21 July 22 on the utilisation of automated templates for preparation of Handbooks.

In order to make company employees familiar with Arabic Language and to make their interaction with customers more fruitful, a Basic Arabic language has been developed in house and conducted thrice in Jan, May and Aug 22. This course helped the participants to learn Arabic alphabet, read simple sentences and to make situational conversations in Arabic language. The employees have positively responded and undertaken the course on voluntary basis.

Dahra Global conducted Interdepartmental Carrom Championship from 13 to 22 June 2022. In a closely contested final, Team Hawks beat Team Falcons and were crowned as Carrom Champions for the year 2022. Mr. Bikram Kumal & Mr. Prakash Dhakal, Cdr. Mattapallil Philip Felix (Retd.) & Mr. Duron Raj Karki, and Capt. Aashish Vora (Retd.) & Mr. Robin Sharma was declared as the top three pairs of the tournament.

The company has tied up with ‘Benzy Travel & Holidays’ to set up a ‘Travel Desk’ and offer tailor made travel packages to Dahra employees and families.

Company employees and families bonded over a Tambola session followed by a sumptuous Buffet Lunch. Employees and families participated wholeheartedly and made this event a great success.

A Lecture on CPR and Dehydration by Dr. Romeena Nizam from Naseem Al Rabeeh was conducted for employees of Dahra Global on 15 Jun 2022. The session also included a practical demonstration of CPR Process and hands on experience by the employees.

Dahra Global organised 3ʳᵈ edition of annual ‘Popular Choice Company Awards’ to honour most popular employees in six different award categories, based on voting franchise exercised by all company employees. Cdr Purnendu Tiwary (Retd), Managing Director happily gave away certificates and cash prizes to all awardees amongst cheering of all employees.

On the glorious occasion of Nepal Republic Day, Mr. Tolakanta Chapagain, Associate IT Engineer - Designer and Mr Duron Raj Karki, Associate Maintenance Engineer visited Nepal embassy and extended best wishes to Mr. Lakshuman Khanal, Deputy Chief of Mission / Counsellor, embassy staff and citizens of Nepal.
